Sign in to reviewWe enjoyed the dog friendly patio on a beautiful day. I had the short rib benedict with fruit instead of potatoes and it was excellent! My husband had croissant breakfast sandwich and loved it. Then we shared the bee sting puff! Oh yum! Service was a little slow and many tables were unbussed, so the choices of where to sit were limited. The coffee was great!
The food was delicious and prices were fair for the area. The pastries and sweets by the front looked great! However the service needs improvement. Overall, staff were not polite and we could here their personal conversations behind the counter from where we were seated. Our food took quite a bit of time to get to us and a lot of tables were left unbussed as guests were leaving the restaurant.
The staff is friendly. But that's about all I can say. The cappuccino was likely made by someone who has never made a cappuccino before. The plate and cup were also heavily chipped. The chocolate croissant was literally a cold croissant cut in half and heavily smeared with Hershey milk chocolate. The lemon cupcake was redeemable as it needed more lemon forward flavor. It's really disappointing for a bakery to serve these items.
We had heard they had good quiche. We ordered quiche, Lorraine and French onion soup. It was absolutely delicious. We will come back!! Update, we have come back several times. The food & service continues to be outstanding. Tried a bacon, cheddar, mushroom omelette today, comes with red potatoes (so delicious) . Amazing.
Im very big on pastries and cook many of them myself. What the other reviews say about the dessert is unfortunately true. I had an eclaire and it's not a true eclaire. I don't know what you would call it but the bread is not made of choux pastry, there was barely any custard and the chocolate ganache was too thick and not a true ganache but hard chocolate. Also custard should be delivered via piping bag, not have the bread be sliced in half like a sandwich. Overall very disappointed. Also the latte was scolding hot and tasted like brewed coffee with milk. Will not come here again.
