Sign in to reviewGreat experience but a bit pricey. I got a simple tea with one topping so I was surprised it cost nearly 9 bucks. 😮 It tasted really nice though. To me, the light sugar level was actually perfect and glad I didn't choose the "perfect" sugar level. 😅 The employees are super courteous. We got invited to a tea tasting, which was well presented by the lovely Miranda. 😊 If you can spare a few extra minutes, it's worth sampling. Extra stars for good service and ambience. Will definitely be back.
My first time trying Chicha San Chen and it was a really good experience. I've had it bookmarked to try in San Gabriel, but haven't had a chance yet. Happened to be traveling to SF and decided to try this location. Drink: I got the lemon condensed milk and the seasonal plum one (can't remember which) but both were so good. The lemon had a great tang but not too much as the condensed milk help sweeten it. I drank the plum the next day and it was still really good. It came with a jelly that was equally yummy. You can tell the tea was brewed really well. This is how one of my favorite tea shops. I'm very impressed. Service: I ordered through the tablet so didn't interact too much with the staff but they looked helpful for those who needed suggestions on drinks and it didn't take too long for drinks to come out. The tablet was really easy to use as well. Atmosphere: the shop was clean and well managed. Lots of seating with different options of table and chairs or lounge type of chairs. Really cute design. This will be my go-to whenever I visit from now on.
Tea tasting experience. Went to the new Serramonte location and they so happened to have to tea tasting experience at the time I went. I think they do it every 20mins or so. We had Miranda demonstrating for us. She was very knowledgeable about the tea leaves and very patient with all my questions. I tried the number 4 (dusk) but I actually wish I went with the number 3 balance. Overall it was a nice experience and the boba I bought was of course 5/5. They also have little games you can play so it’s a nice spot to hang out at as well.
I first heard of this place after some of my friends posted their drinks on social media. I instantly knew I had to give this place a try since I enjoy refreshing drinks and is someone who is not afraid of trying something new. I did my research and noticed they are located where Max’s restaurant used to be at and had just recently opened. I was in the area having dinner and planned to go here after I am finished. Upon arrival, it was cold and there were a few customers ahead of me, but that does not bother me at all since I am a very patient person. You can either order at one of their kiosks (which I did) or head up to their counter to place your orders. After completing your order, you can have a seat and wait for your order. They have a screen with your name and order number on it that includes an estimated wait time until your order is ready. Also the staffs will announce your order when it is ready or to be for sure is when you receive a text message stating your order number is ready. As time went by, the place quickly filled up and the line kept on growing. They have many great options to choose from, such as their freshly brewed tea drinks, taro drinks, fruit drinks, specialty items, hot drinks and much more to choose from. You can choose to have your drink for here or to go, everything is made to order which is always a plus for me since it is quality over quantity. The place is bright, modern and renovated pretty well. A big thank you to the very welcoming, well trained and understanding staffs for making my visit/experience a satisfying and issue free one. I highly recommend this place to all boba enthusiasts, if you need a thirst quencher, to anyone looking to try something new just like me or if you just so happen to be in the area. I definitely will be back to tryout the other great options they have to offer.
My sister and I came to get boba and Shi Nway invited up to try the tea tasting! They went over the 5 different oolong flavors, where they are grown, and what makes them different. It was so interesting to learn about the companies high quality teas and techniques that go into it! Great experience!
