ChiCha San Chen is a bubble tea store in Austin, TX, located at 6501 Airport Blvd #100 in the 78752 area. It is a convenient stop for tea drinkers looking for freshly prepared beverages, whether they are picking up an afternoon drink, meeting friends, or adding boba to a regular weekly routine. With a 4.4 rating from 637 reviews, the shop is a well-known option for milk tea, brewed tea, and chewy boba in Austin.

Customers often point to the tea-forward character of the drinks. Reviews describe a strong, freshly brewed tea flavor and note that drinks are made to order, helping the tea taste fresh without becoming overly bitter from sitting. The boba is also frequently mentioned for being warm, soft, and pleasantly chewy rather than having an overly synthetic syrup flavor. For guests who appreciate tea itself as much as the toppings, ChiCha San Chen offers a more tea-centered bubble tea experience.

Popular choices mentioned by customers include taro milk tea, orange oolong tea, peach tea, and honey osmanthus oolong. The honey osmanthus oolong is described as refreshing with a pronounced floral aroma, while the fruit and milk tea options make it easy for different tastes to find a favorite. Non-dairy choices, including oat milk, are available as well, giving people who avoid dairy another way to enjoy a customized drink. Drinks generally come out quickly, though wait times may vary during busier periods.

The setting at this Austin bubble tea shop is clean and modern, with an atmosphere suited to a casual drink stop or a quick catch-up. Some reviewers find the seating more practical than lounge-like, so it can be especially fitting for takeout, a short visit, or a drink on the way to another plan. Families, students, tea enthusiasts, and groups ordering for events can all find approachable options here; one school Lunar New Year order was especially well received by teachers.

ChiCha San Chen is open Monday through Thursday from 12:00 PM to 9:30 PM, Friday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Saturday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM. For Austin residents and visitors seeking bubble tea with freshly brewed flavor, floral oolong options, and thoughtfully prepared boba, this Airport Boulevard location is worth considering.

This place is my wife’s to-go spot for bubble tea. We have it every single week. The quality is always consistent here. The tea: very strong tea flavor since they make it fresh and use some sort of espresso machine to make it new-to-order. I think this makes the tea not too bitter since it’s not sitting in the leaves for too long. 5/5 The milk: we ordered our drinks with fresh milk and I think this is often overlooked by a lot of people. The fresh milk goes extremely well with their tea since it distinguishes the tea flavors and note. It’s much silkier and smoother than the creamer and more enjoyable every sip. 5/5 The bubbles: sweet, chewy, sometimes a bit on the harder side but it’s still better than most places that we try since the sweetness is just right. 4.5/5 Overall: the regular sweetness is a perfect sweetness. Normal ice will make the temperature of the drink just right. That’s our order - Cassia Black Tea with Fresh Milk, perfect sugar and normal ice with bubbles. You can also try other tea flavors with fresh milk as well. They all go very well. We don’t have a sweet tooth and often don’t eat overly sweet stuff so I’m very confident of our tastebuds. I would take my friends and family here every time I get a chance. Excellent drinks deserve tons of love.

Possibly the only tea place in recent memory where the boba doesn’t have that synthetic syrup like taste. Good tea. Brewed well. Teas never disappointed. The only reason I’m giving one star less is because the seating is very sterile in that typical boba style kind of aesthetic. Uncomfortable small tables and wooden stool like chairs. Not one of those places you can relax for a while with your tea and because there’s so little seating almost every time we go in there aren’t that many people either. But at least that way it’s quiet? lol

We had a school event for Chinese lunar new year and we ordered boba tea from this place! It was so good! All of our teachers loved it! Taro milk tea, as well as the orange oolong tea , peach tea are a big hit! And they also offer nondairy products like oak milk, very thoughtful! It was absolutely a treat! Definitely wanna go back for more flavors!

chicha san chen has a clean, modern interior, and the drinks come out pretty quickly even when it's busy. the boba is sooo warm, soft, and perfectly chewy. my favorite is the honey osmanthus oolong! it's incredibly refreshing, with a strong floral aroma that really shows the quality of the tea leaves. overall a good spot if you're looking for high-quality tea but it is a bit pricier

The drink taste fine nothing special, I actually thought the tea would taste a stronger. Took us 25 min to get 2 drinks (it wasn't that busy, there was maybe 7 orders queued in front of us). Also the girl at the back with short hair who was calling out the number today had an attitude the whole time, like I was annoying her by asking her questions. She kept mumbling the order number so I couldn't hear what she was saying. I also had this coupon for 15% off and when she was asked to help apply the discount, she rolled her eyes and sighed like it was the most troubling task for her. I also overheard her mocking other customers with her coworkers cause of their drink orders, like why...? I wouldn't recommend the place but I didnt hate it. The tapioca pearls were a little harder than most places but there are different and interesting tea options. The place is narrow so it can get cramped, especially around the drink pick up area. Im sure you can find better boba spots around austin
