The roasted meat selection is a standout theme in customer comments. Pork belly with crispy skin also gets a personal endorsement from a diner who says it reminded them of the way the dish is prepared in Shenzhen. If you like comparing a few roast meats in one meal, the options described by customers may make this cafe especially appealing.
Chinatown Cafe also serves made-to-order favorites beyond roast meats. Customers mention beef chow fun arriving quickly and tasting fresh, as well as beef lo mein. One reviewer appreciated being recognized after placing an order by phone, and another described a quick pickup experience. Together, these comments suggest a straightforward, casual place for a convenient lunch or dinner rather than a formal dining occasion. The setting has been described by one visitor as a small, no-frills neighborhood spot, so it may suit diners who value the food and hearty portions over an elaborate atmosphere. People coming with a friend or family member may also find the generous servings easy to share.
The cafe is reported by customers to be cash only, so it is sensible to bring cash before visiting. Chinatown Cafe is open daily, Monday through Sunday, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., according to the listed hours. Cutty cash only spot that offers some great roasted duck and chicken. I thought this place was great had a wide selection of meats and everything was tasty especially the duck. The marinated sweet pork was also delicious, if you want to try all three get the R1. We also tried the pork belly but it wasn’t as good as the other meats. Everything was tasty and they portions are hefty. My gf and I had three meals out of 2 plates and only spent 30 bucks. One of my favorite things to make with the leftovers was fried rice with the pork and chicken.
If you want really authentic chinese food this place is perfect. My favorite is pork belly with crispy skin. That was my number one dish to go to in Shenzhen and here they cook it exactly like they do in Shenzhen. Thank you guys and I will be back 100%!
The woman who took my order over the phone knew exactly who I was when I walked in. She was so nice! My beef chow fun was ready in 5 minutes and is so fresh. I had to try it as soon as I got to the car because the smell was intoxicating. The portion size is out of this world and has all the things a dry beef chow fun should—sliced white onions, green scallions, bean sprouts and of course, wok heiiiii. 😍 Will be back to try more of their offerings, especially the roasted duck that you can see hanging; the beautiful aroma filled the shop. The restaurant is cash-only and has plenty of booth style seating available. I liked the chill vibe in there and will eat inside next time.
This hidden gem in Boston is a hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant that’s totally worth discovering! Cash only, but the food is fantastic. Each order is generous enough to share between two people. I tried the beef lo mein and the char siu …
HUGE PORTIONS!! This was the heaviest plate of food I have ever ordered. I had the soy sauce chicken and it was so flavorful!!
