We were in SD for the week and heard good things about Ching's so we had to give them a try. We tried their Baboy, Mongo, Ube, and Buko Pandan flavors. We warmed it up when we flew back home and enjoyed the flaky crust. My favorite was the ube flavor. Other reviews have commented on poor service, but I didn't have any concerns during my visit. Would return for more pasalubong!

Warm hopia like fresh from the oven but the guy had an attitude. My wife and i we’re speaking tagalog and this guy suddenly said to me, “you’re confusing me! We are not even talking to you and we already gave our order, how is that confusing? Dont blame us for your ignorance of our native language. Dont put this guy on the counter.

The hopiahs are made fresh. They are light and flavorful. Reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend for you to drop by and try them.

Best hopia baboy in all of San Diego County. Might even be the best in all of Southern California, but I haven’t visited every place that sells hopia baboy just yet. I was disappointed to learn that another hopia place I like didn’t even have pork ingredients in their hopia baboy, which goes against the name, but this is unfortunately commonplace at Filipino bakeries. Since Ching’s primary focus is hopia rather than something else like pandesal or other baked goods, the hopia baboy remains authentic with real lard and no artificial flavors.
