Churn is an ice cream shop at 5223 N Central Ave in Phoenix, AZ, offering a welcoming stop for a scoop, sundae, or relaxed dessert break. The shop’s customer feedback points to enjoyable flavors and kind, attentive service, making it a good choice for people looking to share a treat or try something beyond a standard cone. With a 4.7-star rating from 1,523 reviews, Churn is a well-reviewed local option for ice cream in Phoenix. Its address on North Central Avenue also makes it easy to identify when planning a visit in the area.

Some of the flavors and desserts mentioned by customers include sweet cream with strawberries, a strawberry sundae, cookie dough mint, peanut butter ice cream, and a s’mores sundae. Sweet cream stands out in one review for its smooth, simple character, while another customer especially enjoyed the s’mores sundae and its toasted-marshmallow finish. These firsthand mentions offer a useful starting point if you are deciding what to order, though available flavors can vary. Customers also describe the ice cream as fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and one review singles out the vanilla ice cream as a favorite.

Churn’s atmosphere has a comfortable, casual feel, with a small sitting area in the back that a reviewer described as cute and equipped with misters. That outdoor-style seating detail may appeal on a warm Phoenix day when you want to enjoy dessert on-site rather than take it to go. Reviews also highlight welcoming staff who help make visits pleasant. Whether you are stopping in after an outing, meeting someone for a treat, or bringing family along, the combination of friendly service and a place to sit gives the shop an easygoing appeal.

The menu has drawn interest for both scoops and composed desserts, including sundaes and ice cream sandwiches. Customer experiences can differ: one review enjoyed ice cream sandwiches, while another was less enthusiastic about the cookies, so it may be worth focusing on the flavors and sundaes that reviewers specifically praise. A once-a-year goat-cheese flavor was also mentioned by a customer, but its availability is seasonal and should not be assumed on any given visit. Checking with the shop is the practical way to confirm a limited flavor or a particular item before making a special trip.

Churn is open Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The earlier weekend opening can suit a daytime dessert stop, while the later weekday and Saturday hours leave room for an evening scoop. For Phoenix residents and visitors searching for an ice cream shop with well-liked classic flavors, inventive seasonal options, sundae choices, and a casual seating area, Churn offers a friendly place to make dessert part of the day.

Don’t skip this ice cream parlor. It has a cute sitting area in the back well prepared with misters. I tried the sweet cream with strawberries, strawberry sundae, cookie dough mint, and a peanut butter flavor. Every single one was unforgettable. The sweet cream is my favorite. Smooth, simple, firm but creamy and not overly sweet.

Stopped by Churn and had a great experience! The girls working were so kind, welcoming, and made the experience even better. The ice cream was fresh, delicious, and you can tell it was made with care. Great customer service and even better ice cream—I’ll definitely be back! Thank you Kam, Macy, and Ava🤍 …

First time in the other night and I’m so happy I came in. I got the smores Sunday and it was to die for. I’m not usually an ice cream person but I will be back for this. The girls working were all very sweet too!! The marshmallow at the top looks burnt but that’s because I requested it that way!

Ice cream was pretty good and their cookies were pretty bad. We got a snickerdoodle and vanilla ice cream sandwich along with a chocolate cookie (pretty it was chocolate chocolate chip) with cookies and cream ice cream. The vanilla ice cream smacks! The oreo ice cream did have a generous portion of oreos and also was pretty good. If you like plain ice creams with other items you want added to said plane ice cream, you may like even better than me. I do prefer my cookies and cream with the cookies mixed into the frozen ice cream so they are frozen as well. I am not so much of a fan of the marble slab and cold stones type places that add the toppers to the plain ice cream. Staff was great! Why were the cookies terrible you might ask? Well its because I absolutely hate hard cookies. My perfect cookie is soft and semi gooey in the middle. The poor choice of using hard cookies got this place two stars deducted and guarantees I will never be a customer their again. Ice cream was good but a lot of places around the way that serve better ice cream. If you dig harder cookies check this spot out. I do also want to point out their cookies did have great flavor but terrible texture, you know being like a brick and all.

If I could give zero stars I would. Just drove to pick-up some Goat-Cheese flavored ice-cream that comes out only once a year on July 1st. Get there, server proceeds to tell me they don't have it available yet because they haven't gotten …
