Sign in to reviewOverall decently good. Lovely brunch place, clean bathrooms, SLOW service, friendly staff, good food but nothing mind blowing. Great drinks though! Loved the lavender Vietnamese cold brew. The lavender lemonade was nicely balanced. Not too sweet or tart and lavender wasn’t overwhelming. Environment not too loud. Good experience. Nice place to sit down and chit chat but wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for something quick. Bought Beignets, croquet madam, burger melt with side salad, and then an almond croissant from the bakery next store. Liked the almond frangipane but thought the croissant itself could’ve been flakier and more crispy. But overall decent and hits the sweet spot.
One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a while. Definitely get the fresh baked croissants and beignets as an appetizer, they are so flaky. I had the bistro breakfast which came with eggs, a choice of meat, potatoes, tomato confit and fresh sourdough. A perfect way to start a day at the beach. A delicious breakfast with fresh baked pastries. We would definitely come here again. Parking is along the street so be prepared to spend time driving in circles for a spot. Or walk a few blocks! We went on a Saturday morning and had a short 10 minute wait.
We had originally went to eat at day and night cafe. The service was so poor over there, the host didn’t even acknowledge us and made us feel invisible that we decided to come over to the bakery. So glad we did. We were instantly treated with kindness. The host told us to sit where ever we wanted and offered to clean a seat for us in the front. Complete shift in vibes. We sat in the back and our server was very kind and attentive. Food was pretty good. I would say the atmosphere was just amazing. Beautiful table and love the lavender and herbs right next to our table. Would eat here again. Food and service was great. Alcoholic drink madame lavender was also top notch. Created some nostalgia from relatives that have recently passed and we are so happy we didn’t go to day and night cafe.
Phenomenal. Best meal we had on our trip to San Diego. Food, ambience, service; all were perfect. Isabell our server was incredibly kind and helpful. Oh, and don’t miss out on the beignets!
We had a decent experience here. I will say, it seemed like they were a little short staffed. We saw our waiter maybe a couple times. There was another young lady who would come by and help him by refilling our waters. We did appreciate that. The food was delicious. It was also large portions for the price. I thoroughly enjoyed my iced horchata latte. We sat out back and it was peaceful and we could chat easily. Overall, it was a good experience. I think they need more staff. Our waiter seemed to have a lot of tables and that’s why I think we didn’t see him but 2-3 times (take our order, make sure food is good and then check).
