Clement Dung Market is a herbal medicine store in San Francisco, CA serving shoppers from the Richmond District and beyond who are looking for traditional dried goods, pantry staples, and herbal products in a neighborhood setting. Located at 645 Clement St, this longtime-style local shop reflects the practical, no-frills character that many people associate with small specialty markets on Clement Street. For local searchers trying to find a Vietnamese- or Asian-oriented herbal medicine store in San Francisco, Clement Dung Market stands out as a place where the focus is on products first: shelves of dried items, preserved goods, and everyday ingredients that regular customers often seek out specifically.

One of the most mentioned strengths of Clement Dung Market is its selection of bulk dried goods. Customers have highlighted Asian dried fruit such as sweet plum, preserved lemon, and other preserved or specialty items that can be hard to find in a standard grocery store. Reviews also point to great prices and a solid range of dried products, making this herbal medicine store in San Francisco worth considering for people who already know what they need and want access to specialty ingredients without paying specialty-market pricing. If you shop for herbal pantry items, preserved fruit, or traditional dried goods, this store may be a practical stop.

The overall atmosphere appears straightforward and functional rather than polished or highly service-oriented. Customer feedback suggests that experiences with service can vary, and some visitors describe the interaction style as direct, shaped by the norms of an older-school neighborhood Chinese business. That means Clement Dung Market may be a better fit for shoppers who prefer a quick, efficient visit and are comfortable in a busy, no-nonsense retail environment. At the same time, others have had positive experiences and describe the service as fine or even awesome, so expectations and communication style may play a role in how each visit feels.

For people searching in San Francisco, CA for a local herbal medicine store with extended daily hours, Clement Dung Market offers convenient access throughout the week, generally from morning into early evening. That makes it useful for nearby residents, families picking up dried ingredients, and returning customers who value selection and price over presentation. If you are exploring Clement Street businesses and want a neighborhood spot for preserved lemon, sweet plum, dried goods, and traditional herbal-market staples, Clement Dung Market is a concrete local option with a distinctive personality.

As with many small specialty stores, this is probably best for shoppers who appreciate a focused product mix and know the kind of goods they are looking for. In that context, Clement Dung Market remains part of the everyday retail fabric of San Francisco, offering access to specialty dried items and herbal-market essentials that help define the character of the Clement Street corridor.

Having lived in The City, being caucasian married to a Chinese woman I have to laugh at reviews like the ones left here. Evidently, none of these reviewers have any experience around Chinese/Cantonese Culture. If you go into a Chinese business expecting your cultural norms you're going to be very disappointed. I see these reviews all the time from Caucasians who think because the way they do business, then other cultures should behave the same way. Get over yourselves. We found the staff at this store to be very helpful and accomodating. No, we don't speak Chinese and we were probably treated the same way as other reviewers, but we understand "it's a cultural thing". Grow a backbone! AWESOME shredded dry cuttlefish!

The middle age guy worker 👎 is an all time As. Hol., He doesn't want you to touch any merchant items if you not going to buy, period. No examination for the expiration date or what so ever (in a very bad tone & attitude). Do not shop here if you don't want ruining your day, been Warned ⚠️ …
