I have eaten here once before and the chicken banh mi did not look like this… I’m not sure what part of the chicken they’re using, but it does not look appealing nor appetizing. Half my sandwich is what looks like chicken guts or gizzard or fat…drinks are good though which is why I gave it 2 stars. I pretty much had to remove all of that mystery meat to not waste the other edible items in the sandwich.
Tried this place out for lunch around 12pm on a Thursday. Not bad, a little pricey for a banh mi but it makes sense for the area. $11 for a beef banh mi or $10 for a pork or chicken one. You can do a combo for $15.50 that comes with a preselected drink and banh mi which is alright. The inside of the shop is a little small, not made for groups to really eat together since it's just a small bar-like table to eat at. So good if you're eating with one person or by yourself. For the banh mi, the bread is okay. Kinda generic. Meat is good though, flavorful, good quality and good amount. I'd come back only because it's the only banh mi shop in the area. For parking, there's just street parking. Around the corner from the Grand Bakery, there were spots open but you do have to pay for parking by the city. For a Thursday afternoon, it's only like $.50 for 45 minutes.
***Update in response to the Business: We contacted you immediately, asked to speak to manager. Store person said will check and hung up on us. Called later said management told to bring food back as it is store policy. If you take feedback seriously, manager would have at least spoken to us. Food was not fresh, there was no food smell when it was prepared - only dinging of a microwave. Warming up pre-cooked meat and rice in microwave is not fresh food made to-order. Would give you no stars if I could. The absolute worst food that was a health hazard. So bad we could not eat and went straight to the bin. The beef was at least two days old smelled and looked disgusting. I called them to have a refund and said have to bring back the food! We live in Bellevue and have an apt in Eastlake so was not gonna drive back on a Friday. Worst food and customer service. Go to Ba Bar instead!
This rice bowl is the definition of a five-star experience, even in a takeout container! The quality, flavor, and presentation were all top-notch. The savory sliced beef was the star of the show—perfectly cooked, tender, and smothered in a rich, slightly sweet barbecue or teriyaki-style sauce that was utterly addictive. Paired with the fluffy white rice, which was drizzled with extra sauce and a generous scattering of crispy fried garlic, every bite was packed with texture and deep umami flavor. What truly elevated this dish was the fantastic balance provided by the salad. The fresh mixed greens, crunchy carrots, and crisp cucumbers weren't just an afterthought; they were a vibrant, refreshing counterpoint to the rich meat and rice. The dressing (which seemed like a light sesame or ranch-based dressing) was cooling and tied the whole dish together beautifully. It’s the perfect, complete lunch—convenient for takeout but tasting like a gourmet meal. If you’re looking for a dish that delivers huge flavor and great value, you absolutely have to try this!
Great drinks and a wonderful experience! The drinks were delicious, the staff was friendly, and the place was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I’ll definitely come back!
