Cocoon Bay Area Day Spa - Noe Valley

Update: they refunded me for my poor experience and have even offered a complimentary service; despite my experience, I appreciate their effort to make things right. That kind of customer service goes a long way.. Prior review: The place itself is very clean and the ambience is warm and cozy. I came in for a spa pedicure and was made to wait for 30 minutes before my service started. I flagged this to their front desk twice but unfortunately the previous appointment was running late - while I understand that can happen, 30 minutes is a lot to expect a customer to wait. Next the service itself was shockingly underwhelming and very rushed. My nail and cuticle trimming was done in such a hurry that I had to stop and point out to the technician that she had missed significant ingrowth. The scrub involved 30 seconds of rubbing exfoliant and less then 30 seconds of actual scrubbing with a scrub. The foot massage was barely a gentle lather - I politely requested for more pressure 4 times at which point I gave up. This was particularly sad because I picked this spot hoping their foot massage would be good given they're a spa. The last 10 minutes of a 40 minute service was spent with my feet in cold plastic sacks which were supposed to be heated booties. I did mention that they were cold, and was told they were at the max setting. I think the technicians are fantastically warm and polite - they asked me for tea and checked in often - so it's really sad to have to leave this review. Perhaps management should look into training them and updating equipment in the space. The nail paint also chipped and creased within a few hours (I'd requested them to check my nails before I leave!) The front desk was kind enough to offer a 15% discount to compensate for the waiting period . Unfortunately though, for $40, the service quality and overall experience was so poor that I had to leave this review.

Michelle at Cocoon is an absolute gem. I came in for a facial and left with glowing skin, a clear mind, and the deepest sense of relaxation I’ve had in weeks. From the start, she took the time to really understand my skin and tailored every step of the treatment to my specific needs. What sets Michelle apart is not just her skill, but her energy. She brings such warmth and positive vibes into the room that the whole experience feels like a true reset. I’ll absolutely be back. Highly recommend!

I’ve been going to Cocoon and Kristina B for a few years and she is truly exceptional! Her ability to blend relaxation with targeted muscle work always sort me out. She introduced me to cupping therapy for my chronic knots, and it has made a huge difference. Every session leaves me feeling completely refreshed, highly recommend her! Also, the gals at the front desk are so nice!

My wife and I visited Cocoon for a pre-wedding treatment from Ellie. It was our first time ever pampering ourselves like this, and Ellie was incredibly patient with us and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the facial services from Ellie. Cannot stress enough how professional and caring Ellie was during our entire session. We will be back soon!
