An amazing place with really good sandwiches. They're cold sandwiches are very fresh. Small butt efficient bakery. If they look busy go ahead and come in anyways because, they actually serve people pretty quickly. They "Herkimer" coffee which is really really good! They have various focaccia bread with toppings. Like egg and chorizo focaccia. They also have some good sweets and fresh pretzels.
First time here and the Coffee was good and service friendly! Food was made disappointing. Avoid ordering the Angeline. The worse $14 dollars I've ever spent. Should have just physically thrown away $14 in cash in the nearest trash can. The sandwich is 50% arugula, 30% what has to be the hardest bread in the Pacific nothwest, and 20% chicken salad. I received with the top pf the bread gone on one side. Essentially, it was an arugula sandwich. Did not taste good at all. But some people like mid. The blondie was ok but reminded me of when you eat a stale brownie. It's fine but not as moist when it's fresh. Definitely not worth $5.
Phenomenal bread - especially their rotating sourdoughs - and excellent pastries. Their fruit danishes, peanut butter cookies, and savory hand pies are family favorites, but you can’t go wrong with anything you order. Their focaccia is also heavenly. We once got a full cake (fruit and buttercream) and it had enough substance and style to impress even Paul Hollywood. Their coffee is also good, and they have a nice sandwich selection if you need a substantive lunch option. There isn’t much seating space and it’s not really a place to sit and linger.
I just moved nearby a couple weeks ago and I've been here most days they're open. My only downside is they are closed Sun-Tuesday, but it's Columbia City and there's multiple coffee options when CC Bakery is closed. …
A mainstay in Columbia City with regular weekend lines around the block, this bakery offers well-executed classics plus some creative twists and flavor combinations. I visited on a weekday to avoid the crowds and that's what I'd recommend! I started with an Alaska breakfast sandwich and a chorizo hand pie, both tasty! The Alaska is served on a very unique sourdough biscuit—somewhere between a biscuit and an English muffin, maybe? It has a nice texture. You absolutely can't miss their seasonal Danish. When I visited, it was plum and cream cheese. The sweet plum, creamy cheese, and flaky crust are an outstanding combo. Another standout is the savory bread pudding. I'm not sure if this is a regular offering, but if not, it absolutely should be. The texture is amazing, especially warmed up, with gooey cheese and crispy bits of bacon. Other favorites for me are the mini fruit pie (or the whole fruit pie, if you're serving a crowd), the coffee cake, and any of their focaccia slices.
