Corner Cafe & Bakery is a bakery at 62 Harrison Ave in Boston, Massachusetts, a convenient stop for people exploring the city or looking for baked goods and traditional-style Chinese bakery treats. Customer reviews mention moon cakes, egg tarts, custard buns, green bean buns, and pork zongzi, giving visitors a range of sweet and savory items to consider. The shop’s Chinese name is reported by a reviewer as “Juxiang Mianbao Fang,” and another describes its flavors as reminiscent of an old-fashioned bakery. These details make it a useful local option for anyone curious about Chinese bakery specialties in Boston.
Moon cakes are among the treats customers call out most clearly. Reviews mention taro, black sesame, and green tea varieties, with one visitor naming the taro and black sesame moon cakes as favorites. Feedback on texture and flavor is not uniform: another reviewer found the green tea moon cake softer and less flaky than preferred, with a mild green tea taste. Egg custard tarts also appear in customer accounts, alongside custard buns and green bean buns. Because tastes differ and individual batches may vary, these reviews offer helpful context rather than a guarantee of a particular experience.
For something savory, customer reviews mention pork zongzi with mung bean and salted egg yolk, as well as pork buns. A visitor described the shop as small and packed during a stop while exploring Boston, and noted that nearby outdoor seating made it possible to sit and enjoy the treats. Another customer praised a cashier’s friendly manner, while other feedback reports less welcoming interactions, particularly for people who do not speak Chinese. Taken together, these firsthand impressions suggest a busy neighborhood bakery with a varied selection, while also showing that service experiences can differ.

My friend and I stopped in here this morning to grab some baked goods. We got the taro moon cake, the black sesame moon cake, an egg custard tart, zongzi with pork, mung bean and a salted egg yolk, and some green bean buns which I believe had mung bean. The moon cakes were definitely my favorite and hands down the best ones I have had so far in my life. The fillings were very pure and the flavors matched perfectly how you would expect taro or black sesame to taste. The egg custard tart was good too. The filling was nice and the tart shell was a little on the softer side. I wasn't a huge fan of the zongzi but some of this was due to personal preference as well. I ate it as is but probably should have reheated it for a better experience. They were pretty fairly sized though. The green bean buns were good too but if I find myself coming back here one day, I would probably get a bunch of different mooncakes and share them with friends. The bakery doesn't have seating so we grabbed them to go and found a cafe in the area. We had leftovers so I snacked on these throughout the day. I would definitely recommend stopping at this place if you are in the area since it's legit.
8/19/25 - The lady at the counter was nice. - Green Tea moon cake: crust not very flaky or light. A little too soft for me. Didn’t get much green tea flavor - Custard Bun was decent. - 2 Egg Tarts: developed a slight layer on top, but decent as well. A little moisture leaking out.
Great experience! We stopped in while exploring Boston and absolutely loved it. The shop was packed despite being small, which just shows how popular and well-loved it is. The cashiers were incredibly friendly, and the desserts were amazing. We found outdoor seating near by to sit and enjoy our treats. Definitely worth the visit and highly recommend stopping by!
The Chinese name is "Juxiang Mianbao Fang聚香麵包坊". It had the taste of an old-fashioned bakery and was very cost-effective. …
The staff appears terribly unfriendly if you don't speak Chinese, and even with other Chinese people they don't seem particularly friendly at all. The pork buns are generally okay except today's had a whole bunch of lumps of baking soda that hadn't been properly mixed with the batter; does sesame balls are pretty good but they're definitely heavy on the oil and a little short on the filling; and the other cakes that I've had there are definitely not worth their price unless you really know what you want and you appreciate that. Overall also their prices are quite steep.
