Delta Dental of California is an insurance company listed at 1333 Broadway #800 in Oakland, California. For Oakland residents looking into dental insurance options, the listing provides a local reference point for a company associated with dental benefit plans rather than an in-office dental treatment practice. Business hours are not available in the listing, so it is wise to confirm current availability before planning a visit or contacting the office about a policy question.
Dental insurance decisions can involve more than simply comparing a monthly premium. People researching coverage may want to ask clear questions about preventive care, fillings, surgical procedures, reimbursement amounts, provider networks, waiting periods, and how benefits apply to children or family members. Since plan terms can differ, customers considering Delta Dental of California in Oakland should review their specific policy documents and confirm what is covered before scheduling treatment or making a major dental expense.
The business has a 2.7 rating based on 30 reviews, reflecting a mixed range of customer experiences. Several reviewers describe frustration with coverage limits, reimbursement amounts, and exclusions for certain treatment-related costs. These comments underline the importance of understanding plan details in advance, especially when a procedure may involve significant out-of-pocket costs. At the same time, one reviewer shared a positive experience with customer service representatives who explained the process for assigning a pediatric dentist to their child and helped clarify what information was needed.
This Oakland insurance listing may be useful for individuals, families, and caregivers who are comparing dental coverage or need help understanding an existing plan. It can also be relevant for parents seeking to coordinate a child's dental provider assignment. The setting is best understood as an administrative insurance resource, not a dental clinic, so prospective customers should prepare policy or member details when asking questions. A careful conversation about eligibility, provider participation, claim handling, and expected patient costs can help make the next steps feel more straightforward and informed.

Sign in to reviewDelta Dental just left me without any coverage, I've had the individual ppo plan for a couple of years, and when I signed up for medicare advantage I was also offered a KPSA advantage plan through Kaiser, so I chose the latter without monthly cost since I was told that plan would cover the same, but of course the agent didn't tell me about another 12 months waiting period. I was supposed to pay $950 today for surgery, instead I was charged $3700 so I obviously had to cancel my appointment. Delta Dental employees are not bery well trained, they don't care about their members. Just their greedy bottomline
I only ever had a call into customer service, I was having difficulty getting my son’s pediatric dentist assigned to him. I had a call in two separate times and both customer representatives were fantastic. They really helped to explain to me the process, and what was needed to be done. My son needed to just have a general dentist assigned to him, so we assigned my primary Dentist to him, so that way the pediatric specialty dentist could see him. He is under one years old and does not need to have a referral to see the pediatric dentist he just needed to have any dentist assigned to him. Unfortunately, the dentist office doesn’t double check the insurance until the day of the appointment so I didn’t find this out until the day he was supposed to go in and see them, But we were easily able to reschedule another appointment later in the week. I really appreciated both the customer representatives who helped me with this, and the wait time was less than five minutes!
Delta dental insurance is horrible, choose a different company for your dental insurance. They won’t even pay for anesthesia for a surgical implant stating that anesthesia for implant is not covered. Expecting patient to get their gum slice into without anesthesia. A scam of an insurance company that will make every effect to not pay proper claim.
Horrible insurance. I got two fillings and one removed refilled. Over $500 and then delta dental reimbursed me $168. lol do they think dentists and the employees should make $168 for that… it’s insane. Worst dental insurance ever
Scam, $76 a month to cover one filling every 2 years. My fillings aren't even $200. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Put a small sum of money away in a savings account each month as a self-dental-insurance account and pull from it as needed. Never sign up for delta dental.
