Desi District - Frisco, TX

Since DD is the closest option to us, we visit quite regularly. However, apart from the Chicken Dum Biryani, most of the dishes we’ve tried have been overly salty, and many seem to use the same base gravy. For example, the Paneer Tikka Masala gravy tasted very similar to both the Chicken Pasta and Paneer Pasta, which was disappointing. The first time I tried the Szechwan noodles, they were excellent and I was genuinely happy to have found something different and flavorful. Unfortunately, the next two times we ordered them, the quality was completely inconsistent and the taste was far from good. The sambar is almost always too salty and extremely spicy. I usually believe South Indian dishes like idli and dosa are hard to get wrong, but surprisingly, even the idli did not meet expectations. After repeatedly having to discard food due to taste issues, I felt compelled to share this review. Consistency and balanced flavors would really make a big difference. Lastly maybe I will just keep it as a just Tea spot even though it’s not like best tea but not bad either. ++ adding my new review to this one as of July 20th 2026 I ordered tea and punugulu and it wasn’t fresh and was hard when told the girl at the counter she simply said no it’s soft and didnot care to resolve the issue , was least bothered . Well that makes me question how much they care abt there customers . Disappointed , I live so close by so me and my husband always go for tea but with this I feel India bazar might give better customer service once opened

We didn’t have any food, just irani chai, but it’s wonderful and authentic. They’re also one of the only places with irani chai available in the morning. The atmosphere is very relaxed with plenty of seating. Service was also very good.

This review is to inform all about a serious food safety issue at Desi District Frisco. I visited the restaurant and purchased four pastries, two butterscotch pastries and two chocolate pastries. After returning home, my family and I noticed that the butterscotch pastries appeared unusually dry and tasted stale. After we took a bite, I noticed black-colored matter inside one of the pastries. Upon further inspection, we discovered a significant amount of fungal growth (mold) on the bottom of the pastry. We then examined the second butterscotch pastry and found similar fungal growth there as well. My primary concern is the health and safety of my family, as all four of us consumed part of the contaminated food before realizing its condition. I sincerely hope that none of us experiences any adverse health effects as a result. This location demonstrates a serious disregard for customer health and food safety standards. I hope you follow required quality control procedures and that other customers are not exposed to similar risks.

Tried the Juicy Mutton Mandi and Hariyali Kebab at Desi District. The mandi was definitely the highlight of the meal—the goat was tender, juicy, and well-cooked with great flavor. Unfortunately, the Hariyali Kebab didn’t taste very fresh …

We ordered takeout from Desi District in Frisco, and unfortunately had a bad experience. While eating the Mirchi Bajji, we found a piece of plastic wrap inside it. That’s really concerning and not something you expect when ordering food. It completely put us off and raised serious questions about kitchen safety and quality control. Sharing this so others are aware. I really hope the team looks into this and takes steps to prevent it from happening again.
