I'm tearing up just thinking about all the wonderful things I could say about Dr. Kat – to me they truly are limitless. I'll do my best to encapsulate how utterly amazing she is in a few short paragraphs. My hope is that you will come away from this review inspired to pick up the phone immediately and call to see if she has openings to manage your care. I came to Dr. Kat from the giant OHSU medical system, and Legacy before that. Knowing myself as a highly complex person with equally complex health needs, I had kept her practice on my radar for almost a year before I was ready to enroll as a new patient. In the 2.5 months that I've been working with her, I've seen health issues that stumped virtually everyone at OHSU, Legacy, and others have ready solutions with radically innovative approaches I had never conceived of before. I'm totally in transformation mode. Dr. Kat's wisdom, gentleness, and superior mind and heart all contribute to a holistic whole of unwavering care for who I am and who I would like to be. Every week I'm inspired by a new piece of knowledge of how to treat my ailments. Sometimes I think I know things. It's when I remain quiet and listen to her guidance that I truly heal. Dr. Kat is a brilliant, brilliant MD. But she's more than that. She has life experience that has conferred to her a unique sense of compassion and energetic presence that is nothing short of angelic and inspiring. She's also trained with a luminary naturopath and acupuncturist and brings an uncanny ability to merge different forms of medical knowledge into an alchemical whole. Whether you swear by allopathy as the only way, or won't go anywhere else other than your naturopath, or anything in between, Dr. Kat has the knowledge to treat you. I guarantee it. Lastly, I would like to speak to who Dr. Kat is as a human being. She is gentle, kind, unfailingly compassionate, and wholly focused on her patients. She's also profoundly generous, creative, and expansive – always wanting to learn more to add to her already staggering amount of knowledge. She also works so well with other care providers, creating seamless communication channels to manage the wholeness of your care, and of you. When so many of the doctors out there work primarily for insurance and for profit, she commands a league of her own that will not waver until you are the optimally healthy person you want to be. I'm totally on a long journey with her in this regard, and one that I could not be more grateful to be on. I totally crown her queen each and every appointment, and honestly for life. Dr. Kat is an incredible doctor, a gifted healer, and a genuinely kind human being. I have struggled with my overall health for my whole life, which means I have been to many doctors. The process (of being sick and going to the doctor) is always overwhelming and usually leaves me feeling like there is no end in sight. Dr. Kat is the first doctor I have had who has brought me the hope of healing. She really cares about how hard it is to live with chronic illness, and she is overflowing with information and tools to promote ACTUAL HEALING. From the minute I walked into Dr. Kat's office (which, by the way, smells INCREDIBLE because of the bakery next door), I knew this place was different than other doctor offices I had visited, it is better. Both the amazing front office staff and all the doctors clearly prioritize making their patients feel welcome and comfortable, the ambiance is peaceful and warm, it feels like a place of healing. During my appointments with Dr. Kat, she always takes the time to get a full update, review any relevant information I need, complete an exam, and formulate a treatment plan that is realistic and achievable for me (taking into account my finances, personal goals, and overall well being). She is very relatable, takes excellent notes, and always ensures I feel heard and considered... If you are searching for a doctor who is very passionate about promoting overall health and healing, constantly learning new things, and truly cares about her patients, she really does exist. Dr. Kat is a remarkable person, physician, healer. She is unlike any other doctor I have ever known. A truly lovely and compassionate doctor that listens and cares for her patients. Dr. Kat likes complicated cases and is an avid researcher that dedicates a lot of her time and energy helping her patients. She listens well, and goes above and beyond what usual medical doctors do. She gave my husband and I over an hour of her time, and treated us both with dignity and respect.
