Ed's Autohaus is a trusted auto repair shop in San Francisco, CA, serving drivers who want clear answers, careful workmanship, and a mechanic they can rely on. Located at 980 Harrison St in San Francisco, the shop has earned a strong local reputation from customers who value honesty and consistency as much as the repair itself. Reviews repeatedly point to the same experience: straightforward recommendations, fair pricing, and repairs handled with the kind of attention that helps people feel confident leaving their car in the shop.
For drivers in San Francisco looking for help with European vehicles and complex issues, Ed's Autohaus stands out for practical problem-solving and transparent communication. Customers specifically mention work on Audi electrical problems and tail light replacement, along with ongoing service for Porsche, MINI Cooper, and Jaguar vehicles. That range suggests a shop comfortable with both routine maintenance and more involved repair work, especially when diagnosis requires patience and experience. Instead of pushing unnecessary services, the feedback highlights an approach that feels measured, honest, and solution-oriented.
The atmosphere people describe is not flashy or sales-driven. It feels more like the kind of neighborhood auto repair shop where experience speaks for itself. Clients mention coming back for years, even decades, because they trust the work and appreciate being treated with respect. That matters in a city like San Francisco, CA, where drivers often want a shop that can explain what is actually wrong, what needs immediate attention, and what can wait. The result is a service experience that feels personal, efficient, and grounded in real mechanical knowledge.
Ed's Autohaus is a good fit for local commuters, long-time car owners, and anyone trying to keep an older or specialty vehicle running well without dealership pricing. Reviewers note that Ed has solved problems for significantly less than dealer estimates while still delivering quality results. For people with aging luxury cars, recurring electrical issues, or vehicles that other shops may hesitate to take on, that kind of confidence and creativity can make a real difference. It is also reassuring for busy drivers to know the shop keeps weekday business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
If you are searching for an auto repair shop in San Francisco that locals describe as honest, capable, and dependable, Ed's Autohaus leaves a strong impression. The consistent five-star feedback reflects more than technical skill alone; it points to a business built on trust, fair dealing, and long-term customer relationships. For drivers across San Francisco who want thoughtful diagnostics, solid repairs, and no unnecessary upselling, this is the kind of shop people are comfortable recommending to family and friends.

Sign in to reviewGreat experience! Ed was able to fix my Audi tail light, which appeared to work at first glance but actually needed to be replaced. Honest, good work.
Fantastic experience working with Ed to repair an electrical issue with my Audi. Great creative problem solving and timely, transparent communication. He was able to fix the issue for less than half of the estimate from the dealership and other shops. Highly recommend and will be the first call i make with issues in the future.
Ed’s Autohaus is hands down the best shop I’ve ever been to. Ed has done all the work on my Porsches, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else. He’s the most straightforward, honest mechanic I’ve met—no upselling, no nonsense, just top-quality work at fair prices. Whether it’s routine maintenance or a major repair, you can expect excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. If you’re looking for a shop that knows German cars inside and out and treats customers right, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!
You can expect excellent work, a fair price, and decades of experience with Ed’s. I have an aging XJ8 Jag, deal with shops daily, and still couldn’t find a shop with the balls to help (the average mechanic seems intimidated by a 🐆 it seems) - the exception being “authorized jag shop,” or the dealership💰💰💰 (which IS NOT happenin.’) I finally found/met Ed. He took care of my car quickly, professionally, and my v8 is floating down the highway:). Suspension and transmission service were my first order of business. I’ll be back! And highly recommend this team.
Ed has been servicing all of our cars (mini coopers to Porsches) for close to 2 decades and I would NEVER go anywhere else! His work is great…from diagnosing to completing the work…he is a true expert and professional! I recommend him to everyone I know. Also to top it off….he's the most honest mechanic I have ever met! Wish I could give him 10 stars!
