Empire Baking Co. is a welcoming bakery in Dallas, TX, located at 5614 E University Blvd in the 75206 area. This small storefront operates at the bakery itself, giving visitors a close-up stop for freshly baked breads, pastries, cookies, and other prepared selections. Tucked away from the busier Inwood Village area, it is a convenient neighborhood destination for people looking to pick up quality baked goods in Dallas.

Customers often mention the inviting aroma that greets them upon arrival, along with warm, helpful service at the counter. First-time guests have appreciated having items explained and being introduced to the bakery's offerings. The setting is modest and focused on the food rather than a large sit-down experience, making Empire Baking Co. especially well suited for a quick bakery run, a take-home treat, or picking up an order.

Bread is a key part of the selection, with customer feedback highlighting walnut bread alongside an assortment of baked goods. Shoppers have also enjoyed lemon shortbread cookies, muffins, cinnamon rolls, and a chocolate chip cookie finished with sea salt. A refrigerated area with prepared foods adds another option for those stopping in for more than a sweet treat. Selection at this bakery storefront may differ from the Lovers Lane location, so it can be a good choice for guests who value a direct visit to the baking operation.

With a 4.8 rating from 70 reviews, Empire Baking Co. has earned positive feedback for delicious-looking displays, approachable hospitality, and baked goods that invite repeat visits. It is a fitting stop for Dallas residents, nearby workers, families, and anyone bringing home bread or sweets for a gathering. The bakery is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and closed Sunday. Because parking is limited and map directions may lead visitors to the rear delivery-truck side of the bakery, planning a little extra time can make pickup easier.

For a local Dallas bakery experience centered on breads, cookies, pastries, and friendly counter service, Empire Baking Co. offers a straightforward, flavorful stop on East University Boulevard. Whether you are collecting a pre-placed order, choosing a cinnamon roll for later, or exploring the day's available baked goods, the shop provides a warm place to discover the everyday appeal of a neighborhood bakery.

07/08/23: I went to Empire Baking this afternoon to pick up an order. Can’t believe I’ve never been here before. Everything looked delicious!!!! I wanted a sample of all the goodies. Can’t wait to go again. *****Be aware that google maps will take you to the back of the bakery aka the delivery truck entrance. That’s what happened to me today. The main entrance is off of University. There are around 6-8 parking spots in front. The parking lot is pretty small, so is the bakery itself. Not a shot at the bakery, just sharing..*****

Away from the Inwood Village hub-bub, but it still has the basics & then some. Picked up some walnut bread & baked goodies, including lemon shortbread cookies, muffin & cinnamon roll. There's also prepped foods in the refrigerated area. Parking is very limited.

I knew a head of time that this was a small storefront located at the bakery, so I wasn’t anticipating all the menu items located in Inwood Village. There’s a chocolate chip cook with sea salt that is delicious. I have to hold myself back from eating them all in a sitting. The muffins are okay. But the real star is the bread. My all-time favorite is the jalapeño cheddar. It’s amazing! I’ve had a handle of different types, and I’ve never been disappointed.

This location’s actual storefront is quite small, and I believe serves as the main baking unit that provides breads for both stores. There are fewer selections at this location than at the original store on Lovers Ln, and at the time I went in April they were unable to process my gift card.

Lovely bakery and warm hospitality! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and the smell of all the baked goods was heavenly. The kind gentleman at the counter introduced us to how they craft their baked goods and went over several items since we were first time visitors. I love how they only use good ingredients and no preservatives/unnecessary additives. I purchased a carrot pecan muffin, banana bread, and shortbread cookies. They were all tasty! I’ll be back to try the varieties of breads.
