Sign in to reviewSuper organized and the vegetables are very clean! I found everything I was looking for and when I couldn’t I asked a really nice employee. Parking was easy to find! They have a small parking lot that leads to a bigger one! All the employees were smiley and a couple asked if I needed help! I love supporting small independent businesses so this was a 5 star for me!
Love Encinal Market but the meat counter drives me crazy. Why have a number system if you're not going to use it? Instead old pushy dudes sweet talk their way into cutting in line by acting like they are best buddies with the guys behind the counter - many times I've waited in crowds 20 people deep that are complete chaos. I want to support local businesses but my goodness is it annoying.
A great local grocery, bakery and butcher shop in the neighbourhood of Alameda located on Encinal St. corner High St. Conveniently located in the community, this grocery store is not crowded but with limited parking lots and quite pricey. The store is not that really huge but they have great variety of stuffs from fresh meats and produce, bakery and spirits and wine and a lot more! The displays are neat and clean. They have local BBQ on weekends and there’s s cozy Japanese restaurant called Bluefin on the corner serving delightful foods. The bakery has also great freshly bake cookies, cakes and breads. I like their cheese section, they got almost all the best cheeses of the world! Lots of wine selection as well. This grocery store is just like a convenient store, grab only what you really need, the prices are higher than what you can get from other grocery stores in the community.
Found the market to be be a good fit for the neighborhood. Lots of organic items . I did go their looking for a plant based milk by Three Trees called Black Sesame Almond Milk. I was directed to them by the Three Trees website but unfortunately they did not have it in stock. Nice store though
Encinal Market is a treasure. East to park, quick in and out, and they have everything . Great produce, all sorts of cheeses and gourmet foods, and a superb butcher shop. It’s not overwhelming like a modern supermarket and it’s really great for smaller households because smaller portion items are available.
