What many patients mention most is Dr. Ng’s care during the exam itself. Reviews describe visits where questions are answered patiently, concerns are taken seriously, and people feel more comfortable even when they arrive nervous or unsure. That experience seems especially important for first-time eye exams, appointments during more stressful periods, and follow-up care for ongoing eye health. Patients also note that Dr. Ng explains findings in a way that feels understandable and useful, which can make regular vision care feel less intimidating and more manageable.
A clear strength of EYE LEVEL optometry is contact lens fitting, particularly for patients who have had trouble in the past or who need more specialized support. Reviews specifically praise Dr. Ng for helping patients who previously had a difficult experience with contacts and for her skill with bifocal contact lenses, where fit and comfort can be more complex. That makes this Optometrist a meaningful option in San Francisco, CA for adults whose vision needs have evolved over time, as well as for people who want careful guidance rather than a rushed, one-size-fits-all appointment. Patience, precision, and comfort come through as recurring themes.
The office appears well suited for neighborhood residents, working professionals, and patients managing long-term vision concerns, including those who need regular diabetic eye checks. Its weekday schedule, Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 to 18:00, may work especially well for people who prefer planning care during the workweek. While every business can receive mixed feedback, the overall review picture suggests that many patients return because they value the doctor’s knowledge, clear communication, and attention to detail.
For locals searching for an Optometrist near Church Street or in San Francisco, EYE LEVEL optometry offers a calm, established option centered on personal care. The practice may be a particularly good fit for patients who want a provider who listens, explains, and takes contact lens concerns seriously. Sign in to reviewI live in Noe and found Dr. Ng on Google. And wow! I really appreciated her thought and care. I went because I wanted contact lenses. I had tried them in the past and had a horrible experience. Dr. Ng not only corrected my vision, but my feelings about contacts! She made sure I was comfortable with them and was willing to sit late into the evening until I figured out how to put them in, as well as take them out without issue. If you want someone who is going to take extra time with you, I cannot recommend Dr. Ng more.
She is hands down the best optometrist in bifocal contact lenses fitting. Contact lenses fitting is pretty straightforward when you are in your 20s or 30s, but once the myopia kicks in, it becomes more challenging to find the right pair of bifocal contact lenses. Dr. Ng is both patient and skilled, and has helped me and my husband in last 10 years to get to a point where our lifestyle is much impacted by my vision change. If you are in your late 40s or 50s and have problems with your vision, you won’t regret seeing her. She is honest and professional, and truly cares to find the best solution to your vision challenges.
Dr. Ng made me feel comfortable getting my first eye exam during pandemic times. She is very courteous, Professional, and took the time to answer questions that came up for me during the examination. I highly recommend her if you are looking for a new eye doctor in Noe Valley.
I go there for a couple of years now and I am really happy that I found Dr. Ng. She is very knowledgeable and takes time to explains things and gives me really good tips for my eye health. Yesterday I went there for my regular eye check I have to do because I am diabetic, I was postponing it for a while because of Covid and finally went there. First I was a little annoyed about the procedure and questioning but it is good to know that I am safe there and they where really friendly. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Ng's indifferent tone and attitude made me feel uncomfortable. This was my first time seeing her, and she acted really annoyed when she asked me questions about my vision. I also felt like she was being condenscending and treated me younger than a working professional. The clinic felt slightly dated and didn't have a bathroom for patients to use. The tipping point for me was at the end, Dr. Ng wouldn't give me my new contact lens prescription because she wanted me to test it out for a week. I mentioned that has never happened to me in the last decade that I've been wearing contacts, and her response was: "I'm a great doctor and if you don't like my practice you can go somewhere else next year." I was shocked by her response. I don't care how great of a doctor she is if she can't treat her patients with kindness and respect.
