The place is cool if you looking for souvenirs. You can definitely feel the NOLA vibes. Surprisingly the restrooms are clean. The area is well maintained lots of vendors and people are friendly. The area is cooler than standing out in the street. You will sweet a little bit but it’s manageable.

I was a little heartbroken that once again we made it to the French Market right before everything started closing! 😭 We arrived around 4:30 PM, but quite a few vendors were already packing up and closing for the day. Thankfully, we were still able to walk around and check out a few of the vendors that were open. It was a really nice market with lots to see, and I can definitely see why it’s a popular stop in NOLA. Next time, we’re coming MUCH earlier so we can actually experience the whole thing! 😂⚜️

First time visiting. Came around 5:30 on a Tuesday night. I stopped by about 30 minutes before closing and was still able to find some really nice shirts for my family. I expected it to be loud and crowded, especially that close to closing time, but it actually wasn’t bad at all. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the vendors were super friendly and easygoing. I’d definitely recommend coming here just to walk around and hang out. It’s also a great spot for souvenirs—that’s what brought me in the first place. One tip: bring cash if you can, since taxes and fees can add up. You can also ask vendors if they accept Cash App, Zelle, or Venmo—some of them do.

Great bargains to be had here. Truly great experience. Portions of the streets are cardoned off for infrastructure work aloñg the roadway so be very careful of your surroundings. We happened upon a ceremony while in the French quarter and were excited for the couple.
