Gen BobaBee & Coffee House

This place has an awesome, extensive menu and the drinks are really good every time we've been here. I wish they would take Amex for payment, but it's not the end of the world. Their prices are a little high but probably not out of line compared to other boba places. They DO have an $11 DURIAN (IYKYK) smoothie. Lol It's a really cute place too, with a platform to sit on the floor, for that more authentic tea-drinking experience. My biggest concern is the filthy bathroom though. I hope their cleaning standards don't extend to their food prep areas 😳. So, if staff sees this, please maybe address this? It's kind of gross in all honesty. Oh and a hook in the bathroom for handbags and sweaters is always appreciated and currently there isn't one.

the best boba in Austin, hands down. I've tried their regular milk tea, their dirty boba, a strawberry mango smoothie, the Austin signature iced tea, Vietnamese iced coffee, and their iced earl grey milk tea. all were 10/10 exceptional. the prices are fair for the freshness, quality, and portions. the staff are all extremely pleasant and are always happy to offer suggestions. an added bonus is their location; they're right off of North Lamar and in the same plaza as MT Mart, so you can grab a boba on the way home after grocery shopping! the interiors are comfy and always clean, as well, and there is ample parking.

I went to the store on February 17, 2026, as the first day of the Lunar New Year, to buy drinks and receive red envelopes. This year, I arrived early at 10 a.m., and I didn't like the staff's attitude. They were only friendly and welcoming, giving red envelopes to their familiar customers, and completely ignored me. The prices here were also ridiculously expensive; a drink with a few crystal boba cost almost 10 bucks.

While Gen BobaBee & Coffee House is one of a myriad of places to get milk tea and coffee here in Austin, they are by far one of the best. While the price point is a bit high (it's Austin, good food and drink are gonna be a bit high in price), the delivered beverages are amazing. I've only ordered from here a few times, trying the tiramisu and now the hong kong milk tea, but I'm definitely looking forward to ordering more frequently. Also, the egg pudding is divinely silky.

Love the dirty boba milk tea!! The foam on top is so decadent and the boba is so yummy / light. So far that is the only thing I have ordered but it is very delicious, made with high quality ingredients and consistently made. They have a large menu with a lot of variations of items to choose from. Next time I will try out a slush!
