I brought my son and his partner here for dinner yesterday evening, and we were given the option to sit indoors or outdoors. We sat in the outdoor patio which was pleasant. The patio has lights, fans, and plants. It’s a closed patio which in my opinion closes off the traffic noise and movement. We ordered the Special Appetizer which has 4 small spring rolls and 2 egg rolls, a Miso Soup, Seaweed Salad, a California Roll that comes with 8 pieces, and the Chef’s Special - Sate Spicy Rate Steak & Shrimp, and the Stir-fried Broccoli with Beef. The food was good.

I forgot my lunch at home and this place is on the corner. I went with the BBQ pork sandwich. josh weissman has a YouTube video where he ranks sandwiches and this sandwich didn't really seem like a big deal at all. Let me tell you! It is all that. Damn I been missing out. The pork was juicy and pickled vegetables were the best kind of spicy. So fresh and so yummy. This is gonna be a problem for me. But thankfully it's decently priced.

My bf suggested we take out from Grandpa Tao knowing I've yet to try their food. We arrive pretty late & she's already mopping floors given they close in 20 minutes! Yet, she welcomed us inside with warm & kind smiles handing us a menu. We ordered x2 Rare Steak Pho + x1 Pork Potsticker to-go! Total was $42 & we received our order no more than 7 minutes later. I'm writing this review as we've arrived back home now--while eating my food!! It's delicious. The broth is excellent full bodied & rich with flavor. I'm very pleased & will be dining inside during normal business hours very soon. 🙏🏼 Thank you Grandpa Tao for our lovely meal 😌

The filet mignon pho was very tender and flavorful and the Thai tea tasted great. The gyoza was pan fried but not too crunchy. Always enjoy my experience here. Very nice staff.

While in town visiting my boyfriend, he took me here for a quick lunch. Service was friendly and efficient. However, what made this restaurant worth reviewing was the food!! The pho broth is rich, hearty, and complex! However, it's not heavy. I don't know what their review is, but I even told my boyfriend while there, they should never change it. This has become his local haunt, and now, it is also mine when in the San Diego/El Cajon area.
