Dim sum is a central reason people come to Ha Long Bay Restaurant. Reviews mention carts moving through the dining room with selections to choose from, alongside steamed items and other small plates. The dishes customers describe include har gow, shumai, pork dumplings, pot stickers, ginger pork dumplings, and fried shrimp balls. For buns, reviewers call out the baked barbecue pork bun and beef bun. Other reported favorites include steamed pork with ginger, beef short ribs, and egg rolls. The assortment makes it easy for a table to try several flavors and textures together, whether guests are returning for a familiar order or deciding what to sample next.
The menu also reflects the Chinese and Vietnamese offerings noted by diners. One review mentions banh xeo alongside dim sum favorites, making the restaurant worth considering for guests who want more than one kind of dish at lunch. The menu is described as extensive, so visitors may find choices beyond the items they already know. Reviews are not unanimous about every plate: one diner found the beef banh cuon chewy, while others praised the freshness and flavor of the dishes they ordered. That mix of specific feedback can help guests arrive with realistic expectations and choose according to their own tastes.

This was my second visit, and I’m just as impressed as the first! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. This time we had the baked BBQ bun, pig in a blanket, steamed pork with ginger, egg rolls, pork dumplings, pot stickers, and the beef short ribs and every dish was delicious. One thing I really appreciated was how well the staff worked together. Everyone pitched in to help each other, making the service fast, efficient, and seamless. Ordering was easy, and we were in and out without feeling rushed. And whatever you do, don’t skip the dessert cart! There are so many great options, but I highly recommend the custard cream bun. Already looking forward to my next visit!
Everyone’s heard or at least has seen the sign for Ha Long Bay so we decided to go try it one Friday afternoon for lunch. Service isn’t the best here but it’s doable. Menu has a large selection and they came by with their dim sum cart and offered us some selections. Their pork dumpling and beef bun was good. Pho: 3/5, spices were too fragrant and almost all I could taste from the soup. Bun Bo Hue: 4/5, a bit too sweet for my liking but still good! Beef fried rice: 5/5, star of the show! So good and cooked very well. Sichuan beef: 2/5, thought it was gonna be more Chinese infused but it was just stir fry. Garlic pork chops: 2/5, heard great things but this was okay and too sweet. Almost tasted like ice-cream. Overall, food was good and I wouldn’t mind coming back.
Was craving dim sum and we found this hidden gem! We are so happy to find a spot that taste like home. We ordered the banh xeo, har gow, shumai, fried shrimp balls, ginger pork dumpling and Great service! We will be coming back to try their other menu items!
