The shop's relaxed feel makes it suitable for a quick pickup as well as an easygoing break with friends.

The standout for many visitors is the HK milk tea, especially for those who appreciate a strong tea-forward flavor. Reviewers describe it as having the distinctive Hong Kong-style taste they seek, rather than an overly sweet or watered-down drink. Customers can tailor details such as sugar and ice levels, and honey boba is a popular addition. Guests have noted that the boba is soft and chewy, while the tea is flavorful and freshly made. For Austin bubble tea fans who value a bolder milk tea profile, HK Tea offers a clear option to explore.

Waffles are another memorable part of the experience at HK Tea. Made to order and known for their generous size, they bring a warm bakery-like aroma into the shop and pair naturally with a milk tea or smoothie. The menu also includes specialty choices such as the Black Gold, a black sesame smoothie served with egg pudding, giving customers something different from a classic tea-and-boba order. Since topping portions can shape each person's preference, guests looking for a particular amount or combination may find it helpful to ask when ordering.

First time tried this location. HK milktea sugar 100% less ice, honey boba. Tea tastes strong, boba soft chewy, awesome. I came in during slow hour, so there is no wait and it was pretty chill.

I visited HK Tea for the First Time! Friendly & Helpful Service. My Tea was Delicious & Freshly Made! I had to Try the Waffles bc the Smell inside HK Tea reminded me of a sweet bakery. The Waffle was huge & made on the spot & tasted great. I had leftovers for later as well. I highly recommend & will definitely be back!

This is my FAVORITE bubble tea place in the U.S. full stop. I’ve been here countless times since I moved to Austin three years ago. I’ve had bubble tea in many cities—Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Austin just to name a few — and NONE of the other places I’ve been have measured up to HK tea in Austin, TX. I am happy to drive over 20 minutes to this store from my house just to get my favorite bubble tea. My very favorite flavor is roasted black sesame. NO other flavor like it!! If you’re into bubble tea and you haven’t already tried this place, what are you doing?! Head over RIGHT now!!

Ordered the Black Gold (black sesame smoothie with egg pudding) which was great but barely had any egg pudding, maybe half a scoop’s worth. Nice interior and drink selection but disappointing amount of toppings, especially for a specialty drink that doesn’t allow modifications.
