Hong Kong Snack House is a compact neighborhood Chinese Restaurant in Richmond, California, located at 3288 Pierce St #111. Although its directory category is Chinese restaurant, customer feedback points to a broad counter-service selection shaped by Asian street-food favorites, including Vietnamese-style bites and sweets. It is the kind of local stop people mention when they want something quick, casual, and flavorful while they are already in the neighborhood. Reviews also describe a long-running small business with a welcoming owner, giving the shop a personal feel rather than a formal restaurant experience. For people who prefer ordering at a counter and taking food along, the straightforward, snack-focused format is part of the appeal.
Food and drink choices noted by customers include banh mi, fresh spring rolls, crepes, sweet ginger tofu, boba tea, avocado smoothies with fruit jellies, and both sweet and savory snacks. For a dessert-forward visit, the egg bubble waffle, sometimes paired with ice cream, and Hong Kong-style donuts stand out in reviews. A passion fruit boba is another simple pick for a refreshing break. This range makes Hong Kong Snack House useful when one person wants a sandwich or spring rolls and another is looking for a drink, waffle, donut, or crepe. Menu availability and preparation may vary, so asking at the counter is a sensible way to decide. The menu mix is especially helpful for a visit shared by people with different cravings.
The setting is small and informal, with customers characterizing it as a hole-in-the-wall cafe or snack shop rather than a sit-down destination. Its soundscape is part of the personality too: reviewers mention loud techno, club, or dance music, which creates a lively, unconventional backdrop for a quick order. This Richmond spot can suit solo snack runs, casual takeout, an afternoon boba stop, or a low-key treat after shopping nearby. People seeking a quiet, extended meal may prefer to plan for its compact format, while diners who enjoy a distinctive local counter spot may appreciate the relaxed, energetic vibe.

Sign in to reviewThe owner is super sweet! Did you know they've been here 20 years? I know what their secret is. It's authentically yummy Vietnamese street style food! Everything from banh mi, fresh spring rolls, boba tea, to crepes. This is my favorite quick stop when I'm in the neighborhood.
Little hole in the wall Cafe that serves what essentially is asian street food. They have vietnamese sandwiches, Boba drinks, sweet ginger tofu, crepes, egg buble waffle, and some other sweet and savory offerings. You can easily find this shop by following the loud techno/club/dance music they play on the speakers. The workers are really nice and explain what they have to offer and what it is if you don't know. It can get a bit overwhelming if there are lots of people waiting since the menu is so diverse. The entire shop looks like someone just crammed lots of signage and decorations in the tiny space to make it look busier and fuller. I don't even know how the people that work there get behind the counter. Haha. When we came for a weekend late night snack/dessert run at close to 8:40pm there wasn't too many people but within 5 to 10 minutes more people started to come by to buy stuff. We ordered a crepe that had fresh mango pieces, ice cream and whip cream; a crepe with fresh strawberry pieces, ice cream and whip cream; thai iced tea with Boba; and a warm silken tofu with ginger syrup. The mango crepe was delicious and not too sweet. The strawberry crepe was too sweet since they used strawberry jam while the mango crepe had a drizzle of mango syrup. I couldn't taste the Thai ice tea until we got home and ate something salty to counter all that sweet stuff we ate. I didn't even attempt to try the warm silken tofu since I was eating the crepe and I wouldn't have tasted anything anyways. We will be back to try the other stuff they have. Everything looks delicious. Update 10/15/23. Came here for a little treat because of my son's birthday. We noticed that they had signs advertising 20th anniversary buy 2 get 1 free deal. Honestly I don't remember them being there for 20 years but whatever... We ordered Thai teas, fish curry balls, and bubble egg waffles. The Thai teas were good, the curry balls were pretty flavorful and firm with a bit of chewiness but I had to take them off the stick in order to coat them in the curry sauce at the bottom of the tray. The waffles were hot with a good vanilla flavor. They were crunchy on the outside with a chewy mochi like interior. Update 3/9/24. Came here for an after dinner treat and got ourselves some crepes. Super yummy as always and friendly owner. They still have a special buy two get one free deal. We ordered three crepes, and the third was free.

Too expensive for what you pay for. Although all the snacks and desserts here are delicious! I ordered the eggpuff waffle with ice cream as shown in the photo and the total came out to about $13. There's no filling where the cardboard holder is so it looks a bit misleading. I thought it cost a little too much, but great for a quick snack.
They were super nice and now accept card! I got a little passion fruit boba and the person working gave me a red straw for new year and it was very cute vibes. Google says they’re closed but they were open today (Monday 1/21)
