Hong Phat Food Center is an Asian grocery store at 101 SE 82nd Ave in Portland, OR, serving shoppers looking for a broad mix of fresh, frozen, and pantry foods. Customers describe a large selection with plenty to explore, making it a practical stop for everyday shopping as well as a chance to discover ingredients and products for different kinds of meals. The store is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., giving local residents a consistent option throughout the week.

Reviews point to variety as one of the store’s defining strengths. Shoppers mention fresh food, frozen food, instant noodles, and an extensive range of products, with some saying they find something new on nearly every visit. That mix can be useful when planning familiar meals, stocking up on convenient staples, or browsing for something different to try. Customers also describe the staff as helpful and nice, adding a welcoming note to the experience of shopping in a busy neighborhood grocery store.

The deli is another reason customers stop in. Reviewers call out banh mi, including roast pork banh mi, and one customer praised a deli deal pairing a banh mi with fresh juice. Another enjoyed a roast pork sandwich during a hike, describing it as satisfying while also noting that the pork had more fatty pieces than they preferred. These experiences suggest the deli can be a convenient choice for a quick lunch or food to take along, while individual preferences about fillings and texture may vary.

Hong Phat Food Center may suit nearby residents, home cooks, and shoppers who like having fresh and frozen options alongside ready-to-eat deli food. Its long daily hours are helpful for fitting a grocery run around work or other plans, and the reported variety gives regular customers a reason to browse beyond their usual list. With a 4.4-star rating across 2,450 reviews, it has drawn substantial local feedback, including positive comments about selection and service.

For a smooth visit, customers may want to check shelf labels against prices at checkout. One reviewer reported that an item scanned higher than its displayed price on multiple occasions and asked for clearer consistency; this is one customer’s account, but it is useful feedback for shoppers to keep in mind. Overall, Hong Phat Food Center offers a wide-ranging grocery stop and a deli that customers mention for banh mi and fresh juice, right on SE 82nd Avenue in Portland.

Awesome store. Helpful staff. The selection of products is amazing. I frequent this store and I find something new to try every trip. The deli has a great deal for a ban mi with a fresh juice for $5. Can't beat it!

enjoyed our $5 roast pork banh mi during our hike and it absolutely HIT. I did find that there was a lot of fatty pork pieces with no meat so just one star docked off for that (fat-only pieces made up like 50% of all the pork in my banh mi) but great otherwise.

The store has a "malpractice" on pricing. It may not be on purpose but please keep the pricing label and system consistent or use the cheaper price for customers. On multiple occasions, the price scanned is more expensive than the label shown. Today, we bought a box of instant noodles. The price shown for a box is $13.5. When checked out, the price shown on receipt is $18.9. Another issue but since it is only a few 25 cents differece, I let it slide. A can of Spam has price label of 3.95$ but when checked out, it's 4.45$. A can of Flower Pater has price tag of $2.95 but checked price is $3.95. If this review is ignored and problem is not resolved. I will take further action.
