Hospice can be a consideration for patients and families seeking care focused on comfort, dignity, and support during a difficult stage of illness. It may also be relevant to relatives, caregivers, and health-care professionals who are exploring local options or coordinating care. Every person’s circumstances are different, so useful questions include how the provider works with the patient’s physician, what kinds of support are offered, how family members are involved, and what to expect when care begins. A direct conversation is the best way to understand whether this Portland provider fits a particular patient’s needs and preferences.
The listing has a 3.7-star rating from 17 reviews, offering one snapshot of customer feedback rather than a complete picture of care. Hospice is deeply personal, and families may weigh responsiveness, communication, compassion, and practical guidance differently. Before making a decision, consider discussing expectations with the provider and, where appropriate, with the patient’s health-care team. Ask about availability, the process for requesting help, and how questions or concerns are handled. Clear answers can help families compare options with greater confidence.

I was first introduced to accent hospice when I took over being a director of nursing and assisted living in Lake Oswego. From the get-go, they were the most professional I have dealt with and as a nurse in this industry for over 20 years, I’ve had my fair share of dealing with various hospice agencies from coast to coast. By far, Accent hospice has surpassed any hospice I have dealt with. Their compassionate team are always ready at a moments notice to help you with any need that you have they are always there to ask questions no matter if it is their patient or not they are a plethora of knowledge And I look forward to continually using them. Their willingness to work side by side with my staff and helping to educate new staff on how hospice works to allow new staff to feel confident has been priceless.
My great grandma was on services with AccentCare and it was a wonderful experience. All the staff was great with my grandma. She loved Music and the Music Therapist came in to sing with her and she would just light up. My grandma was the …
I am super excited that Lee Adams has joined Access Palliative Care and Hospice. She is one of the kindest and most compassionate people that I have had the pleasure of working with. I know she currently is and will continue to be an incredible resource to both families and health-care professionals. I will certainly recommend her and Accent Care whenever I am able to.
The team is extremely compassionate. They go above and beyond to help the family and patient. They are quick to respond and will pay for things that other hospices won't. One of my resident's had a dream of hearing their favorite band …
8/6/24 It is with gratitude and appreciation I am adding on to my review. I moved my sister into my home from a skilled nursing facility. Her needs were quite a lot. Witnessing first hand, the attentive ways the nurses cared for my sister let me see how special they are. Thank you Jess, Marialicia and Chantel for your dedication to my sister's comfort. Your heartfelt care was comforting to all the family. Dr. Ramsey, thank you for your expertise and for taking wonderful care of your patients.Terry gave my sister reiki, massage and more. She and Greg Garcia, the musician for AccentCare, arrived unknowing when myself sister was about to take her last breaths. Together, they orchestrated a beautiful passing singing "Somewhere over the Rainbow" and other songs my sister loved. It was beautiful and I am very appreciative to Billie, and ALL the people 'behind the scenes" who made everything so easy for the family and supportive of my sister. THANK YOU! I highly recommend Accent Care. The professionalism and diligence are extraordinary and mostly, heartfelt care is what my sister receives from this wonderful team of professionals. I want to mention Kimmy Scarpine, who tenaciously worked with my sister Julie and I to find a place for my sister who was in California with no family to visit. Kimmy was exceptional in staying with this and overcoming impasses, jumping over hurdles and SO much more, to bring my sister to Oregon where she can be with family as she declines. Hospice and medical help is big business in these times. It is not easy to navigate through the red tape and place a loved one close to family. As Kimmy demonstrated continually, Accent Care understands and responds to the emotional and psychological needs of families as much as they can, to create a peaceful and supportive environment for families with a member in hospice. My sister and I are so grateful to Kimmy and Accent Care for the love and support. We strongly recommend their services. Malia G.
