Sign in to reviewthis is a nice place. i would have given more stars if they had a strong jacuzzi jet in their hot tub. the steam room and dry sauna are very nice as well. If you can afford the services, the body work is gr8
** edit: Turns out that was just a really off day. They still don’t offer slippers, so bring some flip flops or something. Otherwise I’m back to loving Imperial. I’ve been coming here for years. There are fancier places (like Pearl) and places with way more amenities (Like Archimedes), but Imperial has always had a clean facility, a hot sauna and a really cold plunge pool. So it’s my go-to, and they take walk ins. But lately things are changing. They no longer provide slippers, which means you have to walk to the bathroom with wet feet across a hardwood floor. The cold plunge is about 65-70 degrees and the sauna is so mild that I can sit in there for a half hour without even thinking twice. Plus there are dirty towels on almost every chair, and no more salty snacks to help stave off dehydration (so bring your own!). With a fee of $40 for three hours, I’d be more than happy to pay $45 instead if it meant the amenities were actually performing as needed. As is, I won’t be coming back any time soon. It’s hard to come up with the money and time needed for a luxury like this, I’d rather save up even longer and go somewhere where I’ll get my moneys worth. :(
I have been here many times and love it. I always get the same treatment! It’s called the “HOT MILK BODY SCRUB & SWEDISH OIL MASSAGE with fresh cucumber mask for face”. Get there early to enjoy the showers, sauna, hot tub prior to your treatment. The scrubbing can be a bit intense, but your skin feels great afterwards. The massage is nice and includes all sorts of lotions, oils, warm buckets of water rinses and hot towels. It ends with a fresh cucumber face mask and hair wash. Lasts 70 minutes and costs $130, well worth it.
I went with my friend, it was both of our first times. This was recommended by someone she knew. This place was a great price for what it included. I called to make a reservation but they ended up texting me. Nudity is required, so if you're uncomfortable with that, this is not the place for you. When you get there you are given a bracelet which serves as your service number and key to unlock your cubby. You remove shoes before you enter the locker room area. They have vanities and hair dryers which is nice if you are going out after the fact. They also have a water and tea station to stay hydrated We came a bit early, explored the shared are which included a hot tub, wet sauna, dry sauna, and child plunge. We think there were more spaces we didn't explore. The hot tub was comfortably hot, the wet sauna was super steamy and drippy, the cold plunge was so cold. They provide a robe and towels along with shower heads to rinse off. Getting there early was great to soften up skin and muscles. My friend tried a body scrub and wrap combo she loved and i got the accupressure massage. I loved my massage. The lady walked on my back and got some got cracks out of it. She was amazing. My friend came out glowing with all fresh skin. We will definitely be back!
Two days after visiting the spa with a friend who recommended it, I developed hot tub folliculitis and mastitis. Essentially they are red dots that appear all over your body caused by bacteria because the water is not properly chlorinated. Unfortunately, that same bacteria got into my right breast, and it became inflamed and painful to the touch whenever something brushed it, like my clothes. I had to go to the gynecologist because mastitis does not go away on its own. Plus, you need to take an ultrasound after you drink the antibiotics to ensure that the antibiotics is working. Like others mentioned in the Yelp review (which I did not get a chance to read before I came to the spa), they did not provide the slippers when you go to the bathroom, so you do not know if the water pooled near the toilet seat is wet from the spa or something else. In addition, I was not informed by the staff that I need to take a shower before and after the spa. I only knew it because my friend told me how it's done. Otherwise, the staff is nice. I would have given it a higher rating if I did not contract this.
