For local shoppers looking for ingredients beyond the usual grocery selection, this market offers the chance to browse many different cuisines under one roof and discover something new along the way.
The spice selection is a recurring highlight. Visitors describe rows of spices and specialty ingredients, along with pantry items that can be difficult to find elsewhere. The shelves also include snacks and treats from around the world, and customers mention finding distinctive items such as rose ice cream and Dubai chocolate. These are examples shared by shoppers, rather than a guarantee that any particular product is always in stock. Reviewers also point to a good liquor selection. Whether you are planning a recipe, replenishing familiar staples, or simply curious about international foods, the variety makes browsing part of the experience.
International Market can suit home cooks seeking a specific ingredient, people exploring Indian, Asian, or Hispanic groceries, and shoppers who enjoy sampling unfamiliar snacks and sweets. The overall rating is 4.4 from 1,159 reviews, reflecting many shoppers’ positive experiences while leaving room for individual visits to differ.

If you need help locating a specialty item, asking a staff member may be useful, but shoppers’ experiences are not identical. The store’s appeal is clear in the reviews: a wide-ranging grocery selection, the possibility of finding an unexpected ingredient or treat, and an opportunity to explore flavors from different parts of the world in a neighborhood supermarket setting.

I was initially thrilled by the variety of products this market had to offer. Unfortunately, when my boyfriend and me approached the owner for assistance, she blatantly ignored us and even walked off as she saw us talking to her. Despite the fact we just watched her happily assist another family immediately before us. I would hate to assume that our race played a factor, but the dirty looks she continued to give us while we checked out certainly made me question otherwise. Thankfully, the cashier was kind and welcoming. Such a disappointing experience, especially considering how excited we were to shop there.
This is such a cool place! If there’s any specialty ingredient you’re looking for, chances are you’ll find it here. Rows of spices, hard-to-find pantry staples, and tons of snacks and treats from all over the world. Prices are surprisingly low, and I always end up discovering something new. My go-to spot when I need Turkish or Iranian ingredients.
Huge selection of international foods and spices under one roof. Emphasis is on Indian and Asian food. Wow, is there any spice you cannot find here? I wish we had one of these in our metro area. Also good liquor selection to boot.
This was a gem. So many cool products. I loved that they had rose ice cream and Dubai chocolate ($14.99 for a small container of Dubai chocolate, and around $12 rose ice cream). They also have a lot of Hispanic foods and many Indian foods. The people working there are very friendly and helpful.
This is hands down the most exciting supermarket in New Orleans. Stepping inside feels like entering another world, with incredible products sourced from all corners of the globe. The staff are exceptionally kind and always eager to help or recommend their favorite finds. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. It’s an experience not to be missed—go see for yourself!
