Islander's minimart is a neighborhood grocery store at 12427 NE Glisan St, Portland, OR 97230, serving shoppers in Portland, Oregon. It is a small market with an assortment that reviewers describe as especially useful for Pacific Islander groceries and hard-to-find specialty foods. Customers mention canned meats and fish, taro, ramen, dried fish, and a broad selection of spices. If you are looking for ingredients beyond the usual supermarket staples, this is a place to browse and ask about what is currently available.

The store’s compact size does not mean its selection is limited to a few basics. Shoppers have praised the variety of specialty and “exotic” foods, with spices singled out as a reason to make a special trip. The products mentioned in customer feedback suggest the shop may be useful for stocking a pantry, finding familiar Pacific Islander ingredients, or exploring foods you do not often see at larger grocery stores. Selection can vary, so contacting or visiting the store is the best way to check for a particular item.

Islander's minimart has a practical, neighborhood-market feel rather than the scale of a full supermarket. Reviewers describe the counter staff as friendly and helpful, while other feedback points to questions about prices, value, and product dates. Experiences differ, so check posted prices and package dates before purchasing, especially for specialty or dried goods. Asking staff for help locating an item or confirming its price can make a quick shopping visit easier.

The market is open every day, Monday through Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., at 12427 NE Glisan St in Portland. That consistent schedule can be convenient for a planned grocery run or a stop for a specific ingredient. Customer reviews give the business a 4.2 rating across 149 reviews, reflecting a range of experiences. Whether you are a local shopper seeking Pacific Islander products, a home cook looking for spices or taro, or simply curious about a smaller specialty grocery store, Islander's minimart offers a focused alternative to a conventional supermarket. Check product condition and pricing as you shop, and ask the team if you need help finding something.

I love their products. Even though it's very small, their assortment of exotic foods and the huge selection of spices makes me go out of my way to find what I want. The people who are at the counter are always friendly and helpful. This place is a real hidden gem.

They have a great deal of products here, but most of what they have is EXPIRED. They are aware of it and don't do anything about it. Not sure how they are getting away with this. This is a serious issue and illegal by the Health department of Oregon.

$32 dollar for a ziplock sized bag of dry fish? Let's add another $4 for 7 pieces of habanero peppers.

It was different the food definitely could've been a little spicier the rice in a different texture and taste to it but overall it was decent nice portions a little on the spending side. When I walked in there is nobody at the calendar and there was no prices on anything I didn't know whether they spoke English or not they called somebody over he finally came over took my order Is definitely Don traditional from what you find at any other restaurant or place to eat.
