Whether you are stopping in for a casual meal or meeting family and friends, the range of dishes makes it a place to consider when you want a relaxed meal in Portland. Customer feedback highlights generous portions, crisp textures, and flavorful preparations, while also noting that experiences with individual dishes can vary.
Vermicelli rice noodles are a recurring favorite in reviews. Guests mention the vermicelli with pork and the vermicelli served with spring rolls, praising the appealing textures and generous serving. The crispy spring rolls are another standout, with one reviewer calling out their especially satisfying crunch. Sesame beef also earns enthusiastic praise for its flavor and texture, while Heavenly beef and poached chicken are among the other dishes customers have enjoyed. Together, these options offer a mix of noodle, meat, and lighter choices for diners looking to share a few plates or settle in with a filling main.
The menu also has options for guests seeking a meat-free meal. Reviewers mention tofu banh mi and tom yum soup with tofu, as well as a good amount of vegetarian choices. Papaya salad appears in customer feedback too, although one diner found it and the Jade Pad See Ew less flavorful than other dishes. For a sweet finish, guests have recommended the sesame ball. These firsthand impressions can help you decide what to order, but they are individual opinions rather than a guarantee that every dish will suit every taste. If you are dining with a group, the mix of noodles, spring rolls, tofu dishes, and meat-centered plates may make it easier to find something for different preferences.
Jade Teahouse is described by one visitor as a busy place with a large upstairs loft dining area; another review notes that food arrived quickly, while also mentioning that ordering at the counter felt a little tedious during a busy visit. Five stars. The food at Jade Teahouse is absolutely amazing. We ordered the sesame beef dish and the vermicelli noodles w/ pork, and honestly there was nothing left to ask for. The flavors and textures were both delicious, and as I am writing this my mouth is watering remembering the flavors - I will one hundred percent be coming back. As for atmosphere, it’s counter service, you order up front and they bring the food to your table, so it’s a laid back setup. Lots of seating and dinning area. GO, you won’t regret it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the vermicelli rice noodles with spring rolls. The texture on the rolls was perfect and the vermicelli rice noodle dish was very generous. …
Crispy spring rolls were excellent, as was Heavenly beef, & the poached chicken. We found the Jade Pad See Ew & Papaya salad a little bland. Ordering at the counter was a bit tedious, as the staff seemed overburdened with multiple tasks, but still doing their best. The food came out very quickly however. We were there on a hot day & it felt even hotter in the dining room while ordering.
So glad we stumbled upon this place while out in a walk and looking for dinner. The food was amazing and not as over priced as other places in the area. A good amount of vegetarian options too. Loved the tofu banh mi and Tom yum soup with tofu. And can’t miss getting a sesame ball. Will definitely come again if we’re back in the area!
I come to Portland several time a year from San Francisco to visit my relatives. First time to this Asian fusion dinner with my beloved families and friends. This restaurant was full of people but don’t worry if long wait as they have large sitting at upstairs, huge loft dinning area. Beautiful outdoor sitting area at the side of the building. The food brought up to our table upstair loft very fast. The waiter is so kind to make sure we got all what we need. The food was spectacular delicious even I ate Asian food everyday in SF. They even set aside togo containers and utensils if you couldn’t able to finish your meal. I would definitely come each time when I visiting Portland which I should have. You will not regret to try your own. And did I say price is so affordable? I couldn’t say enough how much I like this restaurant. Great meals, price and services!!!!!
