Customer feedback is mixed, so expectations and communication are important. Some reviewers describe a satisfying massage and say they felt better afterward. One person specifically praised care for persistent neck and shoulder discomfort and reported a significant reduction in pain after two treatments. Another reviewer said a one-hour massage felt very good, and that their wife also enjoyed her session. These experiences suggest that some clients have found the service helpful, including people seeking attention for muscle tension. They are individual accounts, not a guarantee of a particular result; outcomes and comfort can vary.
Other reviewers raise concerns about pressure, communication, the setting, and payment. One person said the massage felt too forceful despite repeated requests for gentler pressure, while another described a below-ground-level space that felt crowded and not as clean as expected. A separate review reports that the business is cash-only and requests payment before the massage, and some reviewers mention being asked about tips. Policies and conditions can change, so it is sensible to confirm accepted payment methods, pricing, tipping expectations, and the treatment environment before booking. During a session, speak up clearly about pressure, discomfort, or any change you need, and stop the service if you do not feel comfortable.
For anyone considering Jian Min Massage Therapy(Chinatown), a good fit may be a client who values a Chinatown location, flexible daily hours, and is comfortable clarifying preferences and practical details in advance. The listing has a 4.3 rating from 129 reviews, reflecting a range of experiences rather than a uniformly positive record. If you are managing pain or have a health concern, consider discussing whether massage is appropriate for you with a qualified healthcare professional; massage should not be presented as a substitute for medical care. The address is 12 Tyler St, Boston, MA 02111. Confirm the current hours and arrangements directly before making the trip.

I truly can’t thank her enough for the amazing care she has given me. I had been suffering from persistent neck and shoulder pain that was affecting my daily life. I honestly didn’t expect to feel such a big difference so quickly, but after just two treatments, my pain was significantly reduced, and I finally felt relief. Here is not the lux style. Really back to basics place. She is not only incredibly skilled and professional, but she is also kind, patient, and genuinely cares about her patients’ well-being. She carefully listened to my concerns, explained everything clearly, and focused on treating the root cause of my pain instead of just masking the symptoms. Although the process is not relax type. More like no pain no gain. I feel so much better already, and I’m confident I’m on the right path to a full recovery because of her expertise. If you’re looking for someone who is truly knowledgeable and dedicated to helping people heal, I highly recommend her. She is simply the best, and I am so grateful for everything she has done for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
DO NOT GO HERE. We chose this place because of the great reviews, but our experience was absolutely unacceptable. The business is cash-only, and they require you to pay before the massage. We booked a couples massage, and throughout the entire massage, the two masseuses were speaking to each other. At one point, someone actually walked into our room during the massage and simply said, “Sorry!” Given the extremely unprofessional experience, we decided not to leave a tip. The staff then yelled at us and refused to let us leave until we tipped. Fortunately, my fiancé was able to get us out of the situation. This was incredibly uncomfortable and, frankly, frightening. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. It did not feel safe.
In town with my friend & have been in pain so thought a massage would help. Worst massage ever. Im in so much more & new pain now. I asked her to go more gentle multiple times. She could hear the pain in my voice throughout but just kept going. They hounded my friend & me about not tipping enough & the receptionist lady grabbed my arm as I was walking out to make sure I did tip (i was in the bathroom when my friend tipped) then when she found out it was not the amount she liked she gave me the ugliest look. I would never recommend this place or ever go back. & if was more expensive than the other local places. Spend your money somewhere else.
Got a quick massage walking around china town. Was pretty good. Place is below ground level, the inside is kind of crowded and did not feel the cleanest. It’s cash only, and they ask for a tip at the end. Awkward but oh well.
Very good massage. Felt super good after the 1 hour massage. They did very well. My wife had it and she liked it too
