kibi's Cafe Orinda is a Vietnamese restaurant in Orinda, CA, serving diners at 2 Orinda Theatre Square, Suite 151. For people looking for Vietnamese food in Orinda or a convenient daytime meal in the East Bay, the cafe offers a focused local option in Theatre Square. Its 4.8 rating from 92 reviews indicates that many guests have had positive visits, while individual tastes and menu experiences can naturally differ. The restaurant's identity is simple and specific: Vietnamese dishes, a central Orinda address, and service built around lunch and early dinner hours. The location also gives diners a specific, easy-to-find restaurant address rather than just a broad neighborhood reference.

Customer comments highlight banh mi, pho, and Vietnamese coffee as standout choices to explore. One guest praised the banh mi as the best they had eaten in a long time, while another called out rare-steak pho, or Tai, and its slow-cooked broth. Other diners described their banh mi, pho, and coffee order as tasty, hot, and quickly served. The coffee has also been noted for its flavor, and a customer mentioned a lunch deal as a strong value. These details make kibi's Cafe Orinda a useful choice for guests who want recognizable Vietnamese cafe favorites without needing an oversized menu description. They provide a practical starting point for choosing an order, while allowing room for personal preferences.

The setting works best for a straightforward, daytime restaurant visit. kibi's Cafe Orinda is open Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; it is closed Sunday. Those hours suit a lunch break, an early dinner, or a planned meal stop during the week, although guests should confirm current availability directly before making special arrangements. It does not operate on Sundays, so weekend visitors should plan for Saturday service. Reviews that mention food arriving quickly and hot reinforce the appeal for diners seeking an efficient meal rather than a late-night outing.

Whether you are a local resident, visiting Orinda Theatre Square, or searching for Vietnamese food near the wider East Bay, this cafe is worth considering for banh mi, pho, and Vietnamese coffee. It may be particularly well suited to solo lunches, casual catch-ups, and anyone seeking a reasonably priced meal, based on customer comments. If pho is your priority, the reviews give specific attention to rare-steak Tai and broth, while banh mi fans have also found a reason to return. For a current view of the menu, service, and hours, plan your visit around the restaurant's listed schedule at its Orinda address.

Just had a great experience at Kibi’s! We had Banh Mi, Pho, and Vietnamese Coffee. All were really tasty. Our food came quickly, was hot, and very reasonably priced. Will be going back soon for sure!

Best bahn mi sandwich I’ve had in a long time. $10 bucks. Boom. Update Jan 2025. finally tried their Pho. Had rare steak (Tai). No more driving to Walnut Creek for my Pho fix (sorry Kevin’s Noodle House…). Definitely a 10. True slow cooked broth. Vs what others are using that I believe to be canned broth.

Visited on Jan 3, 2026 on my way back to the East Bay from Walnut Creek on a whim. I'll preface this by saying I'm accustomed to outstanding Pho in Oakland with bone broth that is prepped the day before and simmering for 12 plus hours. The pho broth was okay at best. The chicken was so tough I literally could not eat it. I set it aside and asked them why the chicken was so tough and they brought me another serving of chicken... One of the handful of pieces they gave me I could not bite through. Mind you I've had braces in the past and have a near perfect bite and have all of my teeth and I could not bite through the chicken to save my life. I hate say it also was not seasoned at all and the broth did nothing to mask the bland flavor. I won't be back. I was so disappointed by my visit here. I truly felt like I wasted nearly $20. I went to eat elsewhere afterward instead.

I had high hopes as there are few good restaurant options in Orinda, but overall disappointing. The Chicken Pho was awful, the chicken was so tough I had to spit it out and try to remove the rest so I could at least eat the noodles and broth. The cilantro garnish was wilted and brown on the edges. The Beef Pho was just OK - the broth is rather light and is not very flavorful. The pork and chicken in the bun salads have an odd coating that I didn't care for. The shrimp summer rolls are the only item I've tried that I enjoyed.
