Bread is a central draw at KOLSHIkwachi. Reviewers have especially praised the olive sourdough for its soft, spongy texture and balanced saltiness, noting that it is enjoyable even without toasting. Another customer singled out the spiced chai-soaked fruit sourdough, an approximately two-pound loaf with dried fruit, gentle sweetness, chai flavor, and a satisfying crust. These details make the bakery a compelling stop for people who appreciate breads with distinct flavor and texture rather than a standard everyday loaf.

Savory baking also has a place here. A customer described the caramelized mushroom and vegan cheese focaccino as rich in mushroom flavor with a pleasant tang, offering an option beyond traditional sweet pastries. At the same time, both savory and sweet pastries have been ordered for office breakfasts and church gatherings, where reviewers said everything was excellent and impeccably prepared. That combination makes KOLSHIkwachi a practical choice for sharing baked goods at work, community events, or casual get-togethers, as well as for picking up something special for yourself.

This may be especially useful for those considering a small or large order with a particular idea in mind. Customers have mentioned ordering at different scales, and the feedback consistently emphasizes flavor, bread quality, and attentive service. The most delicious bread I’ve ever tried in the Bay Area! Zeenah, the owner of this place and baker, is a magician. She can come up with a unique and special recipe for you. I stopped buying bread anywhere else, because I left my heart in Zeenah’s loaves ❤️

The spiced chai-soaked fruit sourdough bread (approx. 2 lbs.) and caramelized mushroom and vegan cheese focaccino were excellent. The bread is just the right amount of light sweetness from dried fruit and chai flavor with a great crust while the focaccino had a lot of mushroom flavor with a tang. The focaccino can have regular cheese. It was attractively and professionally packaged mostly in paper. Zeenah was very nice and came down with the goods right on time.

I never leave reviews but this is literally the spot for THE best baked goods in berkeley. As a fellow home baker coming from a family of bakers, it is worth the wait time. This bakery brings the flavor- it’s undeniable. Incredibly kind and awesome service. I would trust this home bakery to deliver on fresh flavorful goods any day. Better than any coffee shop or bakery within miles. I dont even have photos because everything was devoured immediately. 1000/10

The bread quality is far superior and I’ve tried breads from Berkley Bowl, Market hall and Semifreddi’s. The olive sourdough is spongy with perfect amount of saltiness. Melts in the mouth and doesn’t even need toasting. We now have a weekly ritual to buy this loaf instead of going to farmers market.
