The best bún đậu in Philly currently (not a lot of competitors tho, maybe like 5?). I really like their chả cốm and tofu. Dồi is okay but has a bit too much I believe is green beans in it. Their mắm tôm is not as good as the one in vietnam tho :( A portion can definitely feed 2 or even 3. Spicy noodle soup is good. You get seafood and beef, mushroom, veggie, fishball. Level 1 is already pretty spicy for me but I don't eat spicy food so 🤷🏻♀️ I'm not a fan of their nem chua rán, the texture is not right. You will have better nem chua rán if you buy frozen meet from HN then put in flour and panko and deep fry. They used to sell bánh tráng trộn, pretty overpriced imo. I would prefer them to ask me if I want everything mixed or not for to go. Restaurant has really nice decor!
The food tastes just like Vietnam. The menu isn't huge, but every dish is worth trying. I highly recommend the Spicy Pork Rib Noodle Soup and Crispy taro salad. The Peach Lemongrass Tea and Mango Passion Fruit Tea are both amazing. The staff are so warm and welcoming—they make you feel like family. Definitely coming back!
Delicious food and friendly service. They have some interesting dishes that are less common in Philly like the taro salad with shrimp and squid (Gỏi khoai môn tồm mực). They also have rotating specials and weekend only specials. Will be back!
Tasty and delicately prepared Vietnamese food. The chao long is authentic and perfectly seasoned. The nem chua rán with its dipping sauce makes an excellent combination. The mì cay (level 3) is seriously spicy — it’ll make you blow fire! …
I had a great time at Lakako and the food was delicious! We got the calamari, spicy rib soup, and nem chua ran. We also got the mango passion fruit tea. Everything was really really good! The service was also great— the server was attentive and helpful. This place is a must-try and we’ll definitely be back!
