5⭐ Amazing Vietnamese-French and dessert was the showstopper! Came in for dinner and walked away really impressed. Vibrant flavors, beautiful presentation, and a menu that rewards ordering broadly. ✨ Apps were a strong start. The Heritage Pork Ribs had a fantastic sweet glaze, real standout. 🍖 The Tuna Tartare over avocado with caviar was bright and well-spiced with great texture, easily one of my favorites of the night. The Crispy Shrimp & Pork Rolls and slaw were both fine, just didn’t pop the way the rest of the table did. For mains, the whole Red Snapper (Ca Chien Saigon) stole the show, incredible flavor, great texture, and the fried touch made it sing. 🐟 Brussels sprouts side was solid, jasmine rice was just rice. I didn’t get a bite of the Shaking Beef and but had a little of the chicken, which was fine. The Shrimp Green Curry though was a nice, spicy, and layered. 🍤 On drinks, I had the white peach mocktail, subtle, more tea-forward than fruit-forward, but enjoyable. 🍑 Then dessert, where Le Colonial really separates itself. We got one of every option (minus ice cream sampler). The Crème Brûlée was solid, even if the sugar crust ran a little light. 🍮 The Dark Chocolate Volcano Cake had more of a liqueur kick than I expected but was still good. The two showstoppers by far were the Warm Coconut Tapioca and a golden mango coconut sphere, that one was the best bite of the night, exceptional flavor and presentation. 🥭
Incredible experience at Le Colonial. The food was delicious. We started with the Pan Seared Chicken Dumplings and the Beet Salad. Then had the Seabass and Shaking Beef as entrees. Highly recommend all of these dishes. Ended with the Golden Saigon and Warm Chocolate Cake for dessert. Both individually delicious, but combined made for an excellent end to the meal.
It had been a long time since we’d last eaten here, and the food and service didn’t disappoint. We tried the fried whole red snapper, and it was absolutely delicious. Everything we had over the years has been great!
The small plates are where Le Colonial shines. I would definitely recommend going that route, with the tuna tartare and shrimp pork rolls being the best. The mains are slightly weak in my opinion, but overall good food. Service is fine, but could have been a little tighter / friendlier.
Our visit was absolutely magical! My boyfriend and I went on my birthday and a week later, we are still in awe- yes, the food was superb.. but SOPHIA is what made the meal so special. She was intentional, attentive and lovely in every way. I’ve recommended all friends go whenever they get the chance. 100 out of 10!!!!!! That math is mathing every time!
