Lee's Market is a neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant at 423 N 36th St in Philadelphia, PA, with the feel of a quaint corner store and the welcome of a familiar local stop. Customers describe friendly service, quick ordering, and food that gives them a reason to return. With a 4.9-star rating across 82 reviews, the market has earned strong customer feedback, especially for its banh mi. It is a practical choice for a casual lunch, a quick meal, or a sandwich to enjoy on the go, without the formality of a traditional sit-down restaurant.

The banh mi is the standout. Reviewers call out both the chicken and grilled pork versions: the chicken is praised for being flavorful and juicy, while the pork earns particular notice for its savory, memorable flavor. Pickled vegetables add texture and brightness, and jalapeños bring heat to the chicken sandwich. One customer notes that the bread is more like a regular hoagie roll than a traditional crisp baguette, so guests seeking a classic baguette should keep that in mind. The sandwich’s appeal, according to reviews, is its satisfying filling and balanced flavors.

There is more to order than banh mi. Customers also recommend the fries, and one review describes ordering a double cheeseburger with fries as a platter. That customer appreciated that the person taking the order adjusted it to the platter rather than charging for each item separately. Another reviewer says the meal was ready in under ten minutes. These experiences suggest that Lee's Market can suit people looking for a straightforward, filling meal as well as those stopping in specifically for a Vietnamese sandwich. Menu details and preparation times can vary, so customers can ask when ordering.

The atmosphere is part of the appeal: reviewers mention a quaint market setting and nice, welcoming people, along with friendly phone service and fast service. Prices have been described by customers as reasonable, particularly for a small market. Lee's Market is a good fit for nearby residents, workers, students, and visitors who want a relaxed neighborhood stop, flavorful banh mi, or familiar comfort food such as fries and a cheeseburger. Its mix of Vietnamese sandwich favorites and casual market character makes it an approachable option in Philadelphia.

Lee's Market is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and is closed on Sunday. You can find it at 423 N 36th St, Philadelphia, PA 19104. If you are planning a visit, consider arriving during its listed hours and asking about the available sandwich and platter options. Whether you are returning for the grilled pork, trying the chicken banh mi for the first time, or adding fries to your order, customer reviews point to a friendly, convenient stop for a satisfying meal in the neighborhood.

Absolute hidden gem in Philly - their chicken banh mi is the best I’ve had. Chicken was flavorful and juicy, the pickled veggies and jalapenos added great texture and heat. Such a well balanced sandwich. Quaint corner store vibe with nice people. Definitely a new go-to spot for me!

Philly was on point! But I came for the Banh mi. The pork was the best flavor I ever had on a sandwich. Extremely reasonable prices especially for a small market. Thanks Lee!

Went here specifically for the banh mi. Although it wasnt the traditional crispy baguette, but instead just a regular hoagie roll, the flavor of the grilled pork is spot on. Could use a little more acidity from the pickled veggies but otherwise a solid hoagie if youre not too picky about your bread. Price was decent for the size, more expensive than other viet spots but bigger hoagie

Ordered a double cheeseburger and fries, didn’t realize it came in a platter. The guy that took my order made it a platter for me, as opposed to charging me a la carte. Food was cooked a very reasonable time frame (less than 10 minutes). …
