If you've been searching for an authentic taste of Taiwan's breakfast culture in Tustin, CA, look no further than Luxweet Bakery Cafe - Taiwanese Breakfast Specialist. This breakfast restaurant specializes in the kind of morning meals you'd find at bustling street-side eateries across Taiwan. Conveniently located at 12932 Newport Ave #7th, Tustin, CA 92780, Luxweet Bakery Cafe has earned a solid 4.3-star rating from nearly 250 customer reviews, reflecting a loyal following that appreciates its dedication to Taiwanese flavors.

The star of the menu is the Dan bing, Taiwan's beloved egg pancake. Customers regularly highlight the nice chewiness of the pancake sheets and recommend pairing them with the house BBQ option, which offers a satisfying and flavorful combination at a reasonable price point. Beyond Dan bing, you'll find milk tea and sweetened soy milk, both staples of a traditional Taiwanese breakfast. Several customers have noted that the soy milk leans on the sweeter side, so keep that in mind if you prefer a less sugary option. The food is served in paper packaging that authentically mirrors what you'd receive at a breakfast shop in Taiwan, adding a nostalgic touch for those who miss the island.

One thing to know before visiting is that Luxweet operates with a streamlined, self-service ordering system using an iPad, and the kitchen works at a pace that prioritizes quality over speed. During peak weekend hours, wait times can extend beyond the typical expectation, so this spot is best enjoyed when you're not in a rush. The café also offers outdoor seating rather than indoor tables, and there is no restroom on-site—guests can use facilities at a neighboring coffee shop. These details might feel unfamiliar if you're used to conventional sit-down restaurants, but they reflect the casual, street-food-inspired atmosphere that makes Luxweet feel genuinely connected to its Taiwanese roots.

Luxweet Bakery Cafe is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with extended weekend hours starting at 7:00 AM and staying open until 3:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. It's an ideal spot for food lovers who want to explore Taiwanese breakfast traditions, expats feeling nostalgic for flavors from home, or anyone in Tustin looking for something different from the usual brunch routine. Whether you're coming for the Dan bing, the sweet soy milk, or simply to experience a piece of Taiwan in California, Luxweet offers a genuine taste worth seeking out.

I was really excited to try this spot since I’m always missing Taiwan, BUT I didn’t expect to wait 50 minutes for a Dan bing and milk tea on a Sunday afternoon. There was only an iPad to order from, no workers out front. So it wouldn’t have been possible to ask about the wait. The food was filling, and the young man who gave me the food after the wait was very polite. But goodness. 50 minutes?

Great food. One note: the soy milk is pretty sweet. Another note: don’t order here if you are in a hurry. One time, it took more than an hour for the food to come out.

The food here was great, the egg pancakes were amazing. Even the paper packages reminded me of the ones at Taiwan. There isn’t a bathroom inside, so you have to use the bathroom in another coffee restaurant. Also there’s no seats inside, however there’s outdoor seating. The food is great, but it might take a while for the food to come out.

Nothing like the traditional Taiwanese 蛋餅you’re expecting. The pancake sheet itself is super thick (which is obviously wrong if you’re claiming yourself to be authentic) and the price is way over for the quality you get. Also wait was too long for just 2 egg pancakes. Don’t recommend.

This place is pretty good. I would recommend getting the Dan bing with the house bbq, it's a decent amount of food for the price point and also the Dan bing has a nice chewiness to it and it's not dry. I would pass on the rice dishes (pork belly and house bbq), I thought it was priced a bit high and not enough pork to rice ratio. You'd probably get more meat if you bought two pork Dan bing (which would be the same price) versus the rice dish. We got 25% sweet on the milk tea and thought that the flavor of it was just ok. I'd prob just skip it next time
