Six months have passed since my experience with Shannon. I debated for a long time about writing this. But since the salon still advertises her as a color specialist and educator, I feel it’s important to share my experience. In September 2025 I went to Shannon for a consultation. At the time I was about 8 months post-chemo and had around 3 inches of regrowth that had been bleached and toned earlier in the summer. I was very clear about my history, and my goal to grow my hair out carefully and transition to highlights rather than continuing all-over bleach. We discussed this again at a trim appointment the following week. On October 16 I returned for a bleach and tone appointment. The service ran several hours - while my hair processed, an assistant was involved at different points, a red head gal kept telling her she was running behind. I was really concerned that the bleach was on too long, then at the shampoo bowl both Shannon and the assisintant were pulling the bleach through my very short hair. I was so worried. Well, because Shannon was running late, she didn’t do the final rinse or style. When I got home that evening and rinsed my hair in the sink so I could see the color and style it myself - large amounts of hair began breaking off, and the hair felt very gummy and damaged. The hair I had spent months growing back after chemotherapy was lost, down the drain, which was extremely upsetting. I had to go back on antidepressants. I shared photos with the salon showing the breakage. The owner did refund my money and gave me products to help with the damage, also cut it a couple of times. But, six months later, I am still working through the regrowth and recovery. I’m sharing this simply so others avoid going to her.

My experience at Mane Attraction was so lovely! From the moment I walked in and was greeted, offered water, and a cooling gel pack - everyone was charming and seemed genuinely happy even though it was the very end of the day. My stylist Taryn was attentive and truly listened to me about what I wanted. She was so friendly and kind and incredibly skilled. I left the salon with hair that looked better than I could have envisioned. She was so positive, kind, and expressed genuine curiosity throughout my appointment. I left feeling uplifted! I highly recommend her and will be back again.

I decided to try a new stylist- I wanted an Aveda salon near me. I contacted Main Attraction and was impressed with their communications. Taryn was my stylist and she was so personable and professional. She listened and gave me a great cut. The salon is beautiful and everyone is so nice. They gave me a welcome package- such a nice touch! I’ll be back!

I had a great experience from the moment I walked into the salon. Everyone was friendly and welcoming throughout my visit. Jocelyn was amazing and explained everything to me, including showing me how to style my hair at home and the different products that can help me achieve my desired results. My hair has never looked this good and I keep getting compliments!

Jocelyn was absolutely amazing and gave me exactly what I wanted, as well as advice on the cut itself, styling tips, and hair clips for the styling. The salon also provided amazing customer service and hold a variety of interesting and affordable hair care products. Very excited to book with her again! 🖤🖤
