As a general hospital, Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital supports a broad range of patient needs rather than focusing on one specialty alone. Customer experiences mention emergency department visits, unexpected appendicitis surgery, cardiac catheterization, and inpatient recovery. One patient described receiving appendicitis surgery over a weekend and appreciated the prompt, kind care as well as explanations from the surgical team. Another shared a positive experience after a right-side heart catheterization, noting that the procedure went smoothly and that they returned home the next day without pain.
For families visiting a loved one, the inpatient care experience can matter as much as the treatment itself. Reviews recognize compassionate nursing and staff support, including care provided on the sixth floor of the West Tower. Patients and visitors have specifically valued patience, professionalism, communication, and the reassurance that comes from staff members taking time to explain care. These accounts suggest that the hospital can be a fitting choice for people who value clinical care alongside attentive support during an admission or recovery period.
At the same time, prospective patients should know that feedback for Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital is mixed, reflected in its 2.7 rating from 784 reviews. Some reviewers report long emergency room waits and frustrations with communication, while others note that emergency care involves triage, testing, treatment, and waiting for results during busy periods. For an ER visit, it may be helpful to expect variable wait times depending on the urgency and volume of cases, and to bring items such as headphones or a book if circumstances allow.
Whether seeking emergency evaluation, hospital-based surgery, cardiac care, or inpatient treatment, Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital in Katy, TX offers around-the-clock access in a convenient local setting. It may be particularly relevant for Katy-area patients and families who need a general hospital that operates every day of the year. Sign in to reviewThis is not a hospital!! It’s a barn transformed to medical facility! The worst ER in the nation with absolutely terrible staff! We waited till 3am in the ER waiting for the doctor to come back with the results and when I asked the nurse he was “the doctor will come when he comes!” Unprofessional attitude and simply they don’t care about the well being of the patients! Also the other nurse who was withdrawing blood for tests didn’t come prepared, blended my daughter’s hand, and didn’t bring tray for cleaning!! I never seen anything like this! This shouldn’t be a hospital at all.
I was admitted for a unexpected Appendictis surgery over the weekend and I am very Thankful for Memorial Hermann Hospital. They were quick, very kind. Surgeons Dr. John Harvin and Dr. Oscar Estrada were very experienced. Explained the …
My husband was admitted to Memorial Hermann last Friday, and I want to give the highest praise to the incredible team on the 6th Floor of the West Tower especially the nurses and staff for Room 608. Nurse Lucinda, who cared for him Friday morning, set the tone with her compassion, patience, and professionalism. Nurse Nichole, who stayed throughout the weekend during the winter shutdown, showed extraordinary dedication and kindness. Their commitment made a stressful situation so much easier for our family. I also want to recognize every single staff member who worked directly with my husband, from the nurses and techs to the young lady who pushed his wheelchair with such care. Every interaction was filled with respect, warmth, and genuine concern. They all deserve their flowers. I’ll be honest: the reviews for this location had me worried before we arrived. But our experience on the 6th Floor completely changed that. If we ever need to return, we will absolutely choose the 6th Floor again without hesitation. Thank you to the entire 6th Floor West Tower team for going above and beyond. Your compassion and professionalism made all the difference, and our family is truly grateful.
