This review is for the blood lab specifically. I had a great experience coming here and didn’t have to wait at all. I have small delicate veins and I’ve had phlebotomists completely give up after 3-5 tries in the past. Sheronda listened to my past experiences of where usually works and doesn’t on my arms and was knowledgeable and kind. The visit was very quick and I would definitely trust her again in the future.

The receptionist and staff are so nice and helpful. I take my dad here for his appointments and they always treat him with kindness. The nurse practitioner in the adult medicine clinic was also wonderful. She took her time and explained everything in detail. It is so different and refreshing compared with our visit to another hospital where doctors were in a hurry.

I was taken to Highland Hospital after suffering an acute heart attack. The staff and physicians took wonderful care of me and I am forever grateful for the care I received. Special mention goes to the cath lab nurses as well as Dr Yang the cardiologist who were beyond amazing.

I have received care from multiple departments at this hospital; however, one department stands out for its consistently exceptional quality of care. The Bridge Clinic demonstrates a rare combination of clinical excellence and a genuinely compassionate, nonjudgmental bedside manner. The providers in this clinic make thoughtful, impactful decisions that meaningfully improve patients’ lives, including my own. Their approach reflects both professionalism and a deep, versatile understanding of the complexities surrounding substance use and related medical and psychological concerns. For individuals facing challenges related to drug use, substance use disorder, medication management, harm reduction, or substance-induced mental health conditions, the Bridge Clinic offers prompt and effective support. Their team prioritizes patient comfort and delivers care with urgency, respect, and expertise. If you or someone you care about is dealing with drug use, substance use disorder, medication issues, self harm, psychosis related to drug use, disordered eating or something similar, I truly believe the Bridge Clinic is your best starting place. They respond quickly, with kindness, and with the immediate goal of helping you feel safe and comfortable. Don't hesitate

My 93-year-old mother who was once an RN, had a bad fall last week and had to be taken into Highland Hospital via ambulance. Unfortunately I live out of state and couldn’t be with her, but when she returned home the next day I asked her how her care was at Highland. Expecting to hear the worse being an Oakland Hospital, she went on and on about how great they were. They had treated her with such good care and concern. The Nurses were all wonderful and very attentive. The hospital staff was professional and very thorough in checking all her injuries. Her whole experience at Highland was very positive. It made me very happy to hear there are still hospitals in the Oakland/Berkeley area that treat their patients this well. They did not rush to get her processed and done with but they did treat her in a very timely manner. Kudos to all those Doctors and Nurses at Highland Hospital ER and also to the fire department EMTs/paramedics who transported her there.
