Sign in to reviewI came in due to some minor symptoms and was treated in the emergency room. This place is very special. Dr. Frost is the blueprint of what a doctor should be. She was thorough, emotionally intelligent, intuitive, and has great bedside manner. I wish I got the names of the nurse who took me back, the nurse who took care of me, and the tech who took care of me. They were phenomenal! The phlebotomist was also incredibly knowledgeable and REALLY good. Emily ensured I received the treatment I needed, and was very accommodating. My work background is in medical social work, and I am a phlebotomist. I've worked in clinics and medical facilities for over 10 years. It's hard to separate that experience from my experience being a patient because I've worked with so many great medical professionals. I have to say taking into account my work history and the amount of medical appointments and hospital stays I've had, this place really sticks out as a cohesive, patient centered ER. Everybody who took care of me should be making training videos.
My father recently visited the hospital through the Emergency Department and was admitted for further care. From the moment he arrived, he was treated with kindness, professionalism, and compassion. The ER staff worked quickly and efficiently while keeping us informed and comfortable during a stressful time. Once admitted, the excellent care continued. Every nurse, physician, technician, and support staff member we encountered was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely concerned about his well being. What stood out most was the teamwork and compassion shown by everyone involved in his care. They took the time to answer questions, explain treatments, and ensure we felt supported throughout his stay. I am incredibly grateful for the outstanding care he received and would highly recommend this hospital to anyone in need of medical care. Thank you to the entire team for making a difficult experience much easier.
This hospital is the best. I had bypass surgery and doctors, nurses on ICU were so nice, respectful, understanding, gentle and many more. My experience in the hospital what I went through wow. First thanking God for putting everyone who worked on me. It was hard but the doctors and nurses the whole staff was amazing. I wouldn't had been able to make it if it weren't for all the gentle help everyone helped me with. Team work. Best hospital 👍🏼👍🏼plus they know what they are doing. If I could give more than five stars I would. God bless everyone who works there.
We had a horrible experience at University Hospital. Do not take your loved ones here for medical care. We took my father in law after an accident. They missed a broken leg on until new demanded them to look again. They were limited when we asked them to do further medical tests on his heart. When discussing a rehab center they pushed hard only for centers where they benefit financially. They sent him and we found out the next day he had been having liver issues which they did not catch in simple blood tests. They also discharged him with no paperwork on medication or discussion with the family. I will never use this lazy hospital again. The nurses were nice, the doctors are rushed and care more about making rounds with their students than helping the patient.
I'm not going to say names but the doctor that I always thought that he was there for me show his true colors and he went in and he knew that I don't have proof how he treated me. That's why he went into the room by himself. Said if I don't like it, I can look for elsewhere for another doctor and he can ban me from UT Health. And I don't know what they told him at the ER that I didn't deserve this because when he cancel me as a patient, he didn't realize that it was going to cancel all my doctor's appointments. Now I have to start over but I'm going to keep myself everything to myself and why make a report to patient relations. They don't even do anything. Doctors are still there. They still treat patients unfairly because his pain in my stomach it gets me is a severe pain that I cannot explain. It gets my whole back. Can't breathe. That's why my blood pressure when I go with his pain is always super high. You cannot make up blood pressure and they always ask me. What meds do you take for pain when you come to the ER and when I tell him that's what started everything it got back to my My primary doctor 45 medications. I'm allergic to it I came and see any doctors close to end of the year, especially my GI doctor. I won't see her until December 21st and then with his pain and I can't even go to the yard because if I do doctors they give drug addicts narcotics and then they came and give it to me and I'm not a drug addict I don't have no addiction. Those are nasty medications to be and addicted to it. I am so happy that I'm not addicted to any narcotic university Health used to be a really good hospital. They used to care about their patients. They're yes there for the money to charge the insurance, but oh well. I'm not going to. I'm just going to be right there there. I have to be really lucky to get the pain medicine cuz I'm not making it up because they don't see that it elevates my blood pressure super high because I'm in so much pain
