Sign in to reviewMensho Tokyo SF is a cute little ramen spot in the Tenderloin. Went here by 5pm on a Tuesday, and was able to get easy seating for two people. Street parking was difficult to find, but thankfully there was a parking garage right next to the restaurant (Temple Garage). By the time we left by 6pm, there was a long line out the door on this rainy day. Food speaks for itself. Ordered: Spicy Enoki chips Corn wings A5 Wagyu sushi Signature Spicy Toripaitan Ramen Spicy Sichuan Pepper Style Vegan Miso Ramen (With a side of chashu pork and ajitama egg) Absolutely loved our appetizers! Was surprised that the corn was sweet, considering we’re in the middle of winter. Wagyu sushi was fun and delicious - pretty sure it was real wasabi instead of horseradish-wasabi. Ok so for ramen - Their signature ramen was playful, with their rich and creamy broth. This was our first time trying duck chashu. Usually not a fan of duck, but this was good! LOVEDDDD the fried burdock root in this. Will plan to order extra next time, if possible. We also tried their Spicy Vegan Miso ramen. **disclosure: I am not a vegan.** But wanted to see this style of ramen because the reviews kept raving about how much people loved their Vegan options. && it does not disappoint! I was surprised by the delicately creamy, sesame & porcini mushroom broth. The noodles are perfectly chewy. My only negative thing is that the Sichuan Pepper Style makes the broth taste saltier than it actually is. When I come back, will plan to order the non-spicy version. Other than that - I can see why this little hole in the wall made the Michelin list. After placing my order, the food arrived much faster than I expected, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. I ordered the spicy VGKO 🌶️, the spicy enoki mushroom 🍄, and a Japanese beer 🍺 to go with it. I usually have a pretty high tolerance for spicy and hot foods, but the heat level of the spicy VGKO caught me off guard. It’s intense — delicious, but definitely not for the faint of heart 🔥. If you’re thinking of ordering the super spicy level, just be prepared. Overall, Mensho Tokyo SF delivers a memorable ramen experience with bold flavors, efficient service, and a vibe that makes the wait worthwhile ⭐. I’d absolutely return — though next time, I might think twice before going for the highest spice level.
Hands down the best ramen we’ve ever had. The signature bowl is rich and deeply flavorful, while the classic is a great option if you prefer something lighter.
