I provided an inspiration photo, fully expecting something similar — but what they delivered surpassed it in every way. The design was stunning, the artistry was incredible, and it was truly a centerpiece at my celebration. What really sets this bakery apart — I have a gluten-free dietary need, so they created two cakes: one for my guests and a beautiful gluten-free version just for me. It was every bit as stunning and every bit as delicious as the regular cake. As someone who often has to settle for less with gluten-free options, this meant the world to me! Beyond the gorgeous cakes, the customer experience was top-notch. They were highly responsive and communicative throughout, and the owner is genuinely one of the friendliest, most warm-hearted people you'll meet. We have been purchasing cake slices and sandwiches at Millstone Bakery for quite some time and always had great food, albeit expensive , in our previous purchases. Today, we were surprised to see that all cake slices were 30-40% smaller than before for the same price. We did not think shrinkflation would be a thing for a neighborhood bakery. In addition, one of the cakes we tried (chocolate peanut butter mousse) was such a disappointment compared to our previous experience. It used to taste great chocolate and peanut butter flavor, and this time it was overly sweet and did not taste good chocolate and barely had any peanut butter flavor at all. We used to buy multiple slices of different cakes to share with the kids over 2-3 meals but I don’t think we will be back.
The best cakes! They taste delicious and are always gorgeous! There’s so many options to choose from and every one is honestly amazing.
Amazing cakes! It's super easy to order cakes through their online portal. The flavor and presentation are 10/10. I think people who are rating the cakes poorly are not used to eating things with real, whole ingredients and are expecting an artificial flavor, or are not following the care instructions properly. I order birthday cakes here for my entire team and we always look forward to it! So so happy to support local business.
I had a great experiencing ordering a custom cake. The order process was easy, price was fair, and they took my design idea and turned it into to something so beautiful! The wedding cake flavor was really good too, moist and not too dry.
