Mivy Nail Lounge

I don’t review often and when I do it’s usually for above and beyond experiences, but unfortunately my experiences at this salon were not that. My first visit was intended to just be a removal of polygel nails but the stylist working with me insisted I keep and extend them instead (not on her of course I didn’t stick to me own plan), and did what at that point was a lovely job a friendly experience in a clean, comfortable and peaceful environment. ~3 weeks later I had to go back to remove them not for growing out but for half the nails having chipped off or fallen off from everyday activities by a week and a half in. Two chipped from just making contact with my own hand. I put it down to different technique than I was used to or than suited my particular nails’ width, but quickly after the removal started there was pain. The first time I winced I didn’t make a big deal since the stylist noticed at the same time she did it and apologized right away, but after the second, she inexplicably proceeded to get rougher and faster with my nails and more visibly annoyed when I did voice or even indicated it hurt. I regret not leaving before she finished, but the final buffing left my nails damaged and scraped to the point I had to use an at home nail repair treatment and cut my nails completely down to prevent any more damage from weakness. The nails were all scratched out, even the nails that were already partially or fully bare when I went in for removal and had previously looked/felt normal, just needing a filing at worst. They still feel tender a week later which I hoped would improve, but the pics attached are from that same day ($15 removal). This is looong but context felt impt to not just say “they’re bad”, and I don’t put fewer stars bc it may just be bad luck the first time and one poor experience by one person that doesn’t represent the rest or even her usual energy (I’d previously hoped to keep going here for the reviews and location myself!), but the tenderness/breakage I’m still dealing with is beyond frustrating—I wouldn’t want another to experience this either.

First time at Mivy Nails Lounge and the person who did my nails did an amazing job. Making sure i liked the shape the color and going out of her way to make sure I got what I wanted and she did just that! She was also super sweet her name is MY, highly recommend her! 💗 …

Went in for a pedicure. I always ask for acrylic on my big toe. She removed the acrylic from one but not the other. The instead of acrylic, she puts gel-x. I was confused and asked her for acrylic to which she replied no. So not only did she refuse what I asked, she left the acrylic on only one toe and put gel-x over it. I always spend a fair amount on my pedicure and I tip fair as well. I've never had a technician say no and refuse to do what I am asking and PAYING for. And then to have them look ugly and be charged for it. Never coming back. Horrible service. Horrible work. Waste of my money.

It’s my 3rd time coming here and the first couple of times were good (better than the other nail salons we’ve tried in Eastlake). The nail techs are nice. However, my last visit was very stressful. The tech kept cutting my nail shorter even after she had already put polish and eventually cut my skin. And I had already told her but she still insisted. She was also extremely slow. The entire thing took me more than an hour. I was getting anxious but trying to stay calm and nice. I left with a bleeding toe, unhappy and unsatisfied. They apologized…and that’s all 😔. I’m sorry but I won’t be returning.

My nail technician, Jade, Relocated to this location. The salon is clean. The staff is friendly, Andy the owner introduced himself, and they have brand new massage chairs that will embrace you. Jade is meticulous in her work. I have her do my gel manicure, but also my gel Pedicure.
