Its location and long daily opening hours make it a practical stop for nearby residents looking to pick up everyday groceries, produce, or a quick treat without making a larger shopping trip. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Whether you are shopping on the way home, topping up a few pantry basics, or looking for something unexpected in the candy selection, Mock Crest Grocery offers a convenient neighborhood option.
Customer feedback describes a mix of everyday essentials and a few more distinctive finds. One reviewer specifically mentions produce, while another highlights an unusual, randomly curated candy selection with hard-to-find varieties and unexpected flavors. Examples include watermelon Dots, grape Sour Patch Kids, and gummy-dusted pineapple candy. That mix may appeal to shoppers who enjoy browsing for a familiar snack in a less familiar flavor, alongside the practical items they came in to buy. Reviews also mention milk and canned tomatoes, though selection and pricing may vary, so checking shelf labels and product dates is sensible when those details matter to your purchase.
The store has a 4.4-star rating from 104 reviews, and the comments offer a candid picture rather than a uniformly glowing one. Some customers praise the owners and staff, and one long-time neighbor recalls receiving helpful service from a previous employee. Other reviewers raise concerns about prices, missing price tags, limited milk choices, and freshness dates; several also describe disappointment following a change in ownership. Those experiences are important context for shoppers comparing options. If you are visiting for a specific item, it may be useful to confirm availability and check prices before checkout. The review history suggests that service and value can be experienced differently from one visit to another.
For people in the North Lombard area, Mock Crest Grocery can be a handy place for a quick grocery stop, a little produce shopping, or a browse through its unusual candy assortment. Its extended weekday and Saturday hours are useful for early and late errands, while the later Sunday opening provides another option for weekend essentials. The store may suit nearby shoppers who value convenience and enjoy discovering specialty-style snacks, as well as anyone who wants a small local shop within reach. Visit with your needs in mind, review prices and dates as you shop, and use the current customer feedback as practical context when deciding whether it fits your routine.

sent my wife here for some milk, they only had whole & 2%, it was expensive, and the milk was dated 2 days to expiration. awful experience, do better
Owners and work staff are always great. This place has produce as well.
Prices have gone way up since the new owners took over. I popped in a couple months ago and ended up paying $9.98 for two cans of diced tomatoes. There were no price tags, so I didn’t realize how expensive they were until checkout. I get that small bodegas charge a bit more for convenience, but $5 for a can of diced tomatoes feels excessive.
New ownership took no time at all ruining this great store. They fired Mr Young and it is already noticeable after barely a few days. I live a block away and have gone here regularly for over 10 years, but I won't be anymore. Mr Young was an exceptional human being and always went out of his way to look out for his regular customers. It's clear the new ownership doesn't care about having a successful business that reflects our neighborhoods values.
So this place has some very interesting candy items. Randomly curated & situated about the store, leaning towards odd & rare flavors of your favorites, like watermelon Dots. Grape Sour Patch Kids etc. Candies that are either hard to find or that you didn’t know existed. Pretty fun. Gummy dusted Pineapple rings are the best I’ve ever had. Glad it’s pretty close to me as it’s the perfect stop for my discerning sweet tooth. Also good for gift packages for loved ones.
