Customer reviews also describe a menu of Chinese and Hong Kong-style comfort food, making this a local stop to consider when you are looking for freshly prepared rice rolls, congee, noodles, or a filling rice dish. The reviews point to a small, casual place where the food—not a formal dining-room experience—is the main reason people visit. It may suit nearby residents, curious first-time diners, and anyone craving familiar Hong Kong-style flavors in Northeast Philadelphia.
Rice rolls are among the most frequently praised specialties. Customers describe them as thin, silky, soft, and elastic, and mention steamed rice rolls alongside savory fillings such as beef brisket. For a warm, gentle meal, reviews also call out congee with century egg and minced pork. One diner noted tender pork and egg pieces, thin slices of ginger, and a bowl served bubbling hot, so it is worth taking care with the first spoonful. These dishes may appeal to diners seeking comforting textures and savory, traditional flavors rather than a typical fast-food meal.
Other reviewed dishes include beef stew noodle soup, braised beef over rice, clay-pot chicken with mushrooms and spareribs, and Singapore rice noodles. Customers mention that clay-pot rice can develop a pleasantly crunchy layer at the bottom, a texture that adds something distinctive to the meal. The beef stew noodle soup is a repeat favorite for one regular, while another reviewer recommends calling ahead to pre-order clay-pot rice. Since preparation needs can vary, checking with the business before visiting for a particular dish is a practical choice.
Drinks and soups round out the customer-described menu. Traditional Hong Kong-style milk tea is noted for a balanced tea-and-milk flavor, and one reviewer appreciated a fragrant drink that was not overly sweet. Reviews also mention pork-feet egg noodle soup and congee, giving customers options for a warming meal in different styles. The mix of rice rolls, noodle soups, rice plates, and tea can work for a quick solo meal or a casual outing with a companion. Reviews reflect individual experiences, so dishes and preferences may differ from visit to visit.

Authentic Chinese food. The rice rolls are silky, thin and soft. I got the beef brisket rice roll and congee. The soy-sauce stewed beef was tender and super tasty. The congee has thin slices of ginger in it and lots of thousand-year old egg and pork pieces. There’s lots of street parking and WiFi for customers. I would definitely recommend this place!
Traditional HK style milk tea, flavor of milk & tea are balancing well, but $4 (small, hot) is not cheap. Clay-pot rice is good with crunchy rice. Braised beef over rice is normal. Singapore rice noodle is good. Steamed rice roll is good. Beef strew is good.
It’s a tiny joint. But my wife and I had a hankering for some decent Chinese food—not the typical fast food crap. My wife ordered the century egg and minced pork congee which came literally bubbling hot. Soooooo good but be careful with this one. I ordered the pigs feet egg noodle soup. Damn! The amount of pigs feet was insane. And so delicious also. All their dim sum items are frozen ones though so if you’re looking for authentic dim sum, this ain’t the place. But frozen charsiew bun properly steamed is still pretty darn good. So I quite enjoyed it. Oh and their fried wings? Damn! I’m a huge chicken wing fan and this place—I’d go back just for their chicken wings. The batter was light, delicate and super crunchy. The flavor (even without salt) was awesome. (I like mine plain). Jolly good wings, I’d say. Atmosphere? Well there’s a, not big, HUGE screen tv with Chinese entertainment going on (it was Chinese New Year) which even though I’m Chinese, I didn’t understand a lick of it. Their bathroom—when I entered, I was about to say, wow! Nice and clean unlike the typical Chinese restaurant where it’s super disgusting — buuuut, there were 2 small roaches 🪳 on the floor. So minus points there. However, we will definitely be back for the food!!!
I have been here many times but this is my first review. Love this place, one of the best and closest to Hong Kong style food. My favorite dish is beef stew noodle soup, then clay pot chicken with mushrooms and spareribs. Remember to call ahead to pre order the clay pot rice or else you will have to wait for a long time! Kids love the steam beef rice noodles. Their premade milk tea is ok but it’s not what I’m here for! Their curry fish ball is very delicious as well!
The best rice rolls I've ever had in Philadelphia, very soft and elastic, and the drink is not too sweet and very fragrant.
