We visited Myers + Chang after spending the day at the Museum of Fine Arts and had a very enjoyable meal. The restaurant offers a creative twist on Asian cuisine, with bold, well-balanced flavors and a menu that's fun to explore. We tried the papaya salad, tofu bao, pork belly bao, salmon rolls, and a few other dishes. Everything was flavorful, but the portions are small, so don't be surprised if you need several dishes to feel full. For the three of us, it took about six small plates, and we finished with the Hakka eggplant and a bowl of rice, which was an excellent way to end the meal. The cocktails were good, although ours was a bit more fruity and citrus-forward than expected. Service was attentive throughout, and the manager made sure everything was going well. The only downside is the noise level. Between the open kitchen and the lively dining room, it can be difficult to carry on a conversation. Also, while they can combine tables, it seems better suited for groups of four or fewer than for larger parties. The restaurant was very busy on a Sunday evening, so reservations are definitely recommended. Overall, Myers + Chang is a great choice if you're looking for creative Asian-inspired flavors and don't mind sharing several dishes. We'd happily return.
We were looking for a fun dress up night for our family on vacation and this was perfect. Not pretentious but slightly upscale. We loved their unique take on typical Asian fare. The shrimp toast was fabulously crunchy, salty and perfectly paired with a mango puree. We also had the untraditional scallion pancakes--super crunchy but soft in the middle. The udon noodles had a delicious seared wok flavor. If you love Asian food but are looking for something a bit different, you'll love this cute diner experience.
We went to Myers & Chang for Chinese food on a Sunday night before Labor Day and it was packed. It had been recommended to us by more than one person. The menu was inventive with delicious dishes and we were able to get gluten free and vegan options. The cocktails were fun and the service was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend when in Boston.
Vibrant Asian-inspired restaurant celebrating pan-Asian flavors with contemporary technique. Carefully crafted dumplings with delicate wrappers and flavorful fillings. Perfectly cooked noodles with balanced flavorful sauces. Grilled meats …
We sat at the counter facing the kitchen, in the last two seats. It was a great spot. Our waiter Steph F helped us pick out a great array of items to sample. We ordered the lemony shrimp dumplings, the Thai pork lettuce wraps, the sweet and sour Brussels sprouts, the pan roasted soy-glazed salmon, and the smoked mushroom lo mein. Everything was amazing. It is so fresh, not overly salty or drowning in sauce. Everything came out staggered and paced well. The Brussels sprouts were our unanimous favorite, although we loved everything. Highly recommend for a wonderful dining experience. Go hungry and order a lot so you can sample. We left with three takeout boxes (probably enough leftovers to make one good-sized lunch portion).
