I had been seeing Emily regularly for about nine months. During that time, I supported her business, recommended her to friends, and genuinely enjoyed my appointments. The only issue I’m aware of was that I missed one appointment early on because of work. Also I would forget my nail file from switching bags often. Other than that, I was never told there were any concerns with me as a client. During conversations about tipping, Emily actually told me twice not to tip, so that was never a point of conflict. At no point during any appointment did she communicate that there were any issues or give me an opportunity to address anything. The day before my most recent appointment, she canceled by text and told me she didn’t think she was the right nail tech for me because “the vibes were off,” suggesting I find someone else instead. If a service provider feels they aren’t the right fit for a client, that’s absolutely their choice. My disappointment comes from how it was handled. After months of appointments, I would have expected a conversation or at least some professional communication long before a last-minute cancellation. Being dismissed with “the vibes were off” after investing my time, money, and referrals felt disrespectful and unprofessional. As someone who worked in salons for many years, I know that clear communication and professionalism are important. If I had handled a regular client this way, my salon owner would not have considered it acceptable. I wanted to share my experience so that others know this is something that can happen. While I liked the salon itself and had positive interactions with the owner and the other staff, this experience left me disappointed and changed how I feel about recommending it.

I’ve been getting my nails done by Braff for the past 6ish months and have always been super happy with the results! I’ve gotten Gel X done but I usually get builder gel. My nails continue to look nice even after 3 weeks and no lifting. …

I love Nail Church! I have been going to Emily for a few years now, and she always turns my nails into a work of art. The entire staff there is so friendly and welcoming. They really have created a warm and welcoming space.
