Napoleon Super Bakery, Oakland Back in the old days, the customers used to be the one picking and choosing the buns on displays. They used to have trays and tongs for us to grab what we want, then pass the tray over to the ladies, they would bags or box the buns and we would pay for it. It’s not like that anymore. There used to be another location in San Francisco’s Chinatown but that one closed down during the pandemic. There's usually a long line for a reason! Super hot and fresh! My go-to's are the Curry Beef Buns, barbecue pork buns, custard buns, mini hot dog buns, chicken and mushroom buns. They also sell delicious egg tarts as well! Everything is pretty delicious here! The ladies are pretty fast but you as a customer gotta be fast as well! So be ready to let them know what you want, pay and leave!!! 😆 CASH ONLY!!!

My family used to go here when it was in Chinatown San Francisco, so happy to know they moved to Oakland Chinatown. They have the same cases and handwriting from years old, very nostalgic. The food and price are the same, both extremely affordable and tasty. I got everything in the photo for $18.50. I highly recommend their egg tart and pineapple custard buns.

Found Napoleon Super Bakery off of Yelp and so glad I did :D Most part of downtown Oakland aren't the best. Napoleon is in Chinatown. Streets are a bit dirty, and doesn't smell too great. Be aware of your surroundings. Street parking and be sure to read the signs! Now on to the good parts! I was a bit unsure how it would actually taste, so I first ordered 2 egg tarts and a pineapple bun. Went back to the car to eat (since the smells of the street were potent) and devoured both quickly. The egg tart is made well. Although not hot, it still had a great ratio of crust to custard. My comparison would be to Golden Gate Bakery. If you eat the egg tart from Golden Gate Bakery, they are still usually hot/warm when you eat it...but Napoleon's tasted just as good as Golden Gate Bakery imo if you waited a few hours. Also, we stopped by about an hour before closing, so I wasn't expecting anything hot. The plain pineapple bun were good too, so we decided to go back and order more :D I decided to order another half dozen of the egg tarts, some coconut tarts, cake, and a few pineapple buns. Pretty much anything they had available, I grabbed some to try it out so I could share with family. I didn't really get the prices, but it is definitely an awesome bang for your buck. I think normally the egg tarts are $1.50, but they mentioned since the crusts came out not up to their normal standard, they lowered the price to $1.30. I waited 1-2 days after to finish an egg tart and it was still so good without heating it up too! I am highly recommending Napoleon Super bakery. I hope maybe I can come in the morning one time (if I'm in the area), so I can see if they have hot baked goods available. If I'm near the Oakland area, I will ALWAYS try to stop by Napoleon to grab some treats :) Follow the adventure @shoyuthebest on IG!

No fuss, no muss Cantonese bakery with sticky floors & cash only policy & you better know what you already want. It hits the spot if you're looking for cheap prices. Along with some of the buns & breads, all I could remember was trying both the traditional Cantonese & Portuguese style egg tarts; both good, but I've had better.

Napoleon Bakery did our wedding cake! The price including delivery was an incredible deal. We asked a friend who could speak Cantonese to help us order, which I strongly recommend. Cash only.
